A Passing Fancy (by eddy styx)

A Passing Fancy (by: eddy styx)

A Flower in the Crack...

A flower that has been trod upon
Victim of many attacks
Sustained by helpful nourishing
Grows up through concrete cracks

Rain and soil, accumulate
Debris is used for fodder
The slender plant of beauty
Dreams of clear, blue water

Sunshine gives strength to her
[Of course, it is a she]
Tomboy not withstanding
She means a lot to me

A most accomplished poet
Team player, yessiree
Just ask of her opinion
She'll give you two or three!

He's The "One"!

He's The "One"!

born under the dark moon
of Cancer and the crabs bite.
he is made of mercurial stuff
obscured from man's search light.

he is mysterious and enigmatic
most often you will find
that he is aloof on his own
none have penetrated his mind

most miscreants fear him
for his tenacity and drive.
feeling that they might
not make it back alive!

he is an unofficial enforcer
the man of shadows calling,
into dark unpleasant places
he finds those who are crawling.

And so...

The game's afoot my dear Watson!
'Tis very plain to me
Do you see the progression of the plot
and the plan of Moriarty?

"I'm afraid not, Holmes
I think you have lost your mind"
Watson, surely you can see?
"I think you've started to unwind"

"Too many mysteries, you've unraveled
your habits too excess
I do not see the plot sir
I see him nor the villainess"

Just An Average "Guy?"

"Just An Average Guy?"

he is the ideal in her eyes,
someone to look up to.
he is smart and quick
with a defined point of view.

he is a desired good friend
with a quirky sense of humor
he can spot a fraud in ten paces
he's not one to act on, or spread rumor!

honest and trustworthy he inspires faith
he has a valid point, gets right to it
he is a real straight shooter
he is a dead-eye and is right on target

Awkwardness

Let me set the scene for you
Because I think you have it all so wrong
There was no sunshine or cloudless skies
It was awkward with things that didn’t belong

Let me set the scene again
Because you don’t really understand
There was no trigger, no reason at all
It was way too awkward to have been planned

Where once laughter & joy was heard
Now the sound was that of a blackbird’s song
Every candle flickered then burnt itself out
Then silence; deafening, awkward & long

Most want... (To Die In Their Sleep! by:eddy styx)

Most People Want:

(To Die In Their Sleep) by: eddy styx

I see you
deeply, kissing him good-night
I sense you
behind the closed door
I know your
bedroom walls & drapes
I feel
your satin bed sheets
I smell
the decadent perfume
I taste
the sickly dregs of death...

Dinner Plans...

Crackling firelight and the warmth
from the fireplace shows
a threesome that rests quiet
basking in the glow

An unlikely pair of brothers
and a faithful dog
Music wafting gently here
like a misty fog

Anubis snorts and sighs a bit
Killer smiling at Sir Gee
I wish you wouldn't bring your food
But eat with him and me

"You know my answer, give it up
I'll share adventure and the trail
but never eat the stuff you eat
on that, you won't prevail"

Sit beside me

Sit beside me(1)

Sit, let me assail your ears
You're the angel who takes her sojourn
to the earth
Flying not, like that of a bird, the Jove
On top of the land of the leal.
The Illume of your glisten teeth,
Even harrows me with a joy and love.

Sit beside me, speak about me,
Take a pregnant pause,
Then bode me the story of two lovers,
Who dine and wine in an ocean of love
Even ours won't follow the scripture
That featured the Romeo and Juliet,
the bird lovers.

It's Hard To Breathe...

My lifeline is a thirty foot tube
breathing is a bit hard today
Can't run or sing, do most anything
That tube is always in the way

So much water, rain in the air
Makes it very hard to breathe
Carry them tanks everywhere
Walk too far, I begin to weave

Like a drunken sailor, stumble along
Started smoking in middle school
I was alright, THEY were wrong
Thought the Marlboro Man was cool
