Sunday Morning

Each Sunday Morning we rose to hear
That Sunday was the day to pray
Mother making it quite clear
And we were to dress without delay

Each Sunday morning the church bells ring
That we must pray all through the Mass
Reminding us that we must sing
And do so with a lot of class

Each Sunday morning the priest would preach
How to treat each other
We would learn about the goals to reach
That was the hope of our mother

Each Sunday was the day to think
A gathering of our friends
A time for family food and drink
Time to really make amends

Each Sunday will always be
The bells will continue to ring that day
Filled with memories for me
Reminding all of us to continue to pray

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

The poem "Sunday Morning" effectively uses repetition to emphasize the importance of Sunday rituals and traditions. The phrase "Each Sunday morning" is repeated at the start of each stanza, creating a rhythmic pattern that mirrors the regularity of the Sunday routine.

However, the poem could benefit from a more varied vocabulary. For instance, the words "pray" and "ring" are used multiple times. Exploring synonyms or different ways to express these concepts could enrich the poem's language and make it more engaging for the reader.

Additionally, the poem could delve deeper into the speaker's personal experiences and emotions. While it does mention the speaker's memories, it doesn't provide specific details about these memories. Incorporating more personal details could make the poem more relatable and emotionally resonant for readers.

Lastly, the poem's rhythm and meter could be more consistent. Some lines have more syllables than others, which disrupts the poem's flow. Adjusting these lines to fit the poem's overall rhythm could enhance its musicality and readability.

like a Norman Rockwell painting. No, really, work like yours, brings to mind, the idyllic family life that many may mock, but others would and have given their lives for. I was fortunate to have the familial support that I did in my youngest years, and so, escaped some of what could have been a very hard life. So, yeah, I appreciate where this one comes from.
In order to make this one better, the only thing I would be looking a is, flow. I suggest that you look at your meter and try to establish a rhythm and keep it. Looking at if you might reverse some lines, instead of AABB go ABAB.
With a little adjustment, this could be so much more. You are getting there!

think it better. Read it through aloud, practice it! Then is when you will see your flaws, in the hesitation of your recital, is where you have made an error. Sometimes, they are easy to rectify, sometimes you have to rewrite a couple of lines, to get the proper rhythm. Try different ways to express the same thoughts with words, Much better!

I remember going to church with my family...it was mandatory but ours was on Saturdays. My mom hated to get up early so Saturday evenings we went to mass. Great job.
