The Transition

Here’s the thing about being bipolar

Everyone knows about
the depression…

Everyone knows about
the mania…

But no one knows about
The time in between

The transition
Between phases

You feel nothing.
You feel numb.

I can’t cry
I can’t laugh
I can’t yell
I can’t feel

It’s as if
Something crawled under my skin
And into my soul
And took everything when it left.

And here I am,
Left with my emptiness
My nothingness
Waiting for the next phase…

You can't even get "comfortably numb". It's like living on "gray street at the end of the world." No satisfaction whatsoever.

The power of our language can and will change the world.
Successively until our languages become one!

Very well said, Leslie! Thanks for commenting!

only imagine how bad it is to be stuck like that. You have described that emptiness in plain, drab, silent words that lie across
the path; obliterating your very footprints. ~ Geez.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

The transition between phases is hard to grasp when you haven't experienced it firsthand, but I wouldn't wish it on anyone... It is a daunting feeling, when you know one phase is ending, because you know this transition is coming.

Thank you for your feedback, Geezer! Always appreciated!

I wouldn't wish any of it on anyone but the feeling of being stuck in limbo is the worst. You have described the feeling perfectly. Well done.
