Mon Frere Blasé (Spoken Word)

Mon Frere Blasé (Spoken Word) performed @Poetry Project (A performance piece

I thought you being gone for awhile
would be good
good to miss you
I thought you being gone from breadth
would be great
to adore you more

but found out I was missing you
things weren't quite right
missing you like a light
realized no sun in the sky;
couldn't see colors
and day
stayed night everlasting forever . . .

forgotten the shine
how it's ray's stream thru one
like a rainbow generating joy
colors special colors raspberry reds, jelly bean blue, beautiful, beautiful sea greens

like wandering stars out of sync planet misalign
I was missing that shine
I was missing that light
left wandering in darkness
without you beside me
were you to free me?
and set me out into the universe with no canvas to gaze

were you to let me go ?
to an endless sky
where you the moon
I the star wandering forever looking at me missing you like a bird to a tree
like water to the earth
like a steady breeze

looking at me . . .
missing you like a bird to a tree
like water to the earth
like a slow steady breeze
slow steady it's summer time
and isn't it fine we found each other finally

it's summer time
isn't it fine we found each other
drinking cheap wine and turning up my petticoat
disclose such interest
a revolution
a revelation amidst without you
so I journey to Ixtlan
x land . . . x being pseudo to no name
so I refrain from saying your name
don't mention my name
don't . . . mention my name
so . . . I refrain from mentioning your name

they said if I leave you
i would be indigo
of the go
and always in the know

hmmm if i leave I will certainly be indigo
indigo missing you
In this universe

forever in darkness
without you the moon to shine the light at night
without you the sun to bring me the colors for which I've become accustom to

forever melancholy baby
without you near me to gleam all those wandering stars and put them back into the heavens

place them so that the planets will not be misalign
you the moon: the sunshine
the rainbows and the colors I found in you

thought it would be good missing you for awhile
but realized mon frere Blasé

I mentioned your name . . .
