Autumnal Chills (Things That Make You Smile Contest)

Yellow leaves
raining
onto the asphalt
with every gust of wind.
Swept up by the passing cars...

Sunbeams
glisten
through the trees...
Shimmering dew

Mountains on the horizon
The rushing river beneath me
Cool breeze blowing through my hair
Sending autumnal chills across my skin

Winter is beautiful
and so is the Spring
But I love Fall
most of all

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

The poem "Autumnal Chills" captures the essence of the fall season with vivid imagery and a sense of appreciation for its beauty. The use of descriptive language helps to paint a picture of the scene, allowing readers to visualize the yellow leaves raining down onto the asphalt and the sunbeams glistening through the trees. The mention of mountains, a rushing river, and a cool breeze adds to the overall sensory experience.

One suggestion for improvement would be to consider adding more specific and unique details to make the poem stand out. For example, instead of using the phrase "cool breeze blowing through my hair," you could try to find a more original way to describe the sensation, perhaps by using a metaphor or simile. This would add depth and originality to the poem.

Additionally, it would be beneficial to explore the emotions and personal connection to the fall season in more depth. While the poem expresses a love for fall, it would be interesting to delve into why the speaker feels this way.

Left me with a smile reading your poem.

I love all seasons except winter. I asked myself is there anything I like about winter. The only thing I came up was a cup of water remains cold in the car. I say all this to say after reading your lovely poem I think autumn, too, is the best of them all. For me, it’s just the sheer beauty of the leaves at the park or driving down a parkway. I sometimes get a little sad thinking every year there are fewer trees. I feel that in autumn the leaves are giving us a last dance at how marvelous they truly are, a departing gift. .
