A Mistress

A mistress she is
disguised by her charisma stage
a silent act of move
with her flirtatious play
by the alluring sign
of enticing trait
with deceitful words
from a luscious lip
for a seductive tease
under her magical spell
cast from a display

Prayer, Answer for Depression

In the quiet hush of dawn's embrace,
Prayer whispers softly, a gentle grace.
A balm for the soul, a cure for despair,
Lifting the burden, lightening the air.

In the darkest hour, when all seems lost,
Prayer offers solace, no matter the cost.
A beacon of hope, a flicker of light,
Guiding the way through the endless night.

So bow your head, let your heart be still,
And let the power of prayer fulfill.
For in its embrace, you'll find release,
A remedy for the soul, a path to peace.

Sights

I’ve seen girls in skirts, less and much else!
Been on streets where I’ve slept, no cash, no help;
Hells of cells, no shelves nor bells where I dwelled;
No warmth, it was cold but I had to be bold;
I’ve heard gunshots, been on cold floors, seen bayonets: (small saws);
Bad habits of addicts at it like rabbits, it’s tragic.
It is a rampant frequency and that seems to be
A trap that is desperately sad - it is bad because we lack in
A place that is homely - that is why we get lonely.

My First Internet Experiments

My first internet experience was kinda lame ––
Nothing worked! ––
With a 40 meg hard drive and one meg 'o RAM …

Email barely existed and was inaccessible.
I tried chat rooms ––
The forerunner of social media ––
To no avail:
No one ever got back to me!
What was I doing wrong?
I never did figure it out.

On Life's Boat-Deck

She anchors with her thoughts and the heart
departed to the peaceful shores.
No waves will tear her apart.
She's been well-decked in faith.
She conquers ebbs, flows,
heroically,
while sailing
ahead,
Mum.

FAILURE

The weight of the earth
on top of coal
is what pressures coal
into a diamond

And this weight of pain
wrapped around my heart
is what crushes my soul
In sermon

You see -I was weak
a weak and scared man
Never did I hold faith
with courageous hand

I just died,
died the panicked man
So now tears fall wet
in diamond heavy pain

Overdraft the Monster...

As the wind howls, I am reminded...
Reminded of the rippling sheet of rain,
a silver curtain billowing across the roof.
There will be water in the attic.

There is an overdraft there, going over.
The spirit of the storm, travels so fast,
it carries water over the edge, to the window below;
dropped, it clings to the wall, and sneaks in.

Less than five percent battery

So dismal these days
Cannot rely on anything
So proprietary in its ways
Spend most of my days
Trying to recharge
Such an intrusion on my time
Useful only when green
Always hovering on red

Panic stricken will it even last?
Running consistently low
Eking out on its last bars
Frantically seeking an outlet
Apps lurking in the background
Sucking my battery bone dry
Hawking my every move
Always feeding it with juice

Summer Image Prompt Challenge-Sailing

In the sailing wind blow
pacing along with the flow
feeling at ease and contented
under the vast blue sky
the spray of the fresh air
embarking on a new journey
traveling miles far apart
carrying with a curious mind
awaiting for a new opportunity
embracing with a sense of hope
bringing with an emotional ride
through many different stages
at the endless spending time
finding own destination
with each tale of the story
comes with lessons
instilled with the thought

To Love You (Living with Depression Contest)

Lately,
All I can think about is death
And you.

It's like my brain is hardwired
to love you
Even when I can't love myself.

I used to live
To see the moon on a sunny day
To step on one more crunchy leaf
To feel the sun on my face
To find a lucky penny.

Anything to survive the day.
Just one more day.

Lately,
None of that matters to me.

Now, it's just you.

To hear your laugh,
To look into your eyes,
To feel your hand in mine,
Your lips on mine.
