Balloon ride

Gently wafting up
thru the crisp blue morning air
somewhere over Albuquerque
a child offers up a grateful prayer
happy just to be alive
staring down without a care
hoping for tomorrow’s flight
dreaming dreams which no one dares!

The below is a computer generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

The poem "Balloon ride" captures the wonder and excitement of a child's experience on a hot air balloon ride. The use of descriptive language, such as "crisp blue morning air," creates a vivid image of the setting and adds to the overall dreamlike quality of the poem. The child's sense of gratitude and contentment is palpable, as they are "happy just to be alive" and "staring down without a care."

However, the poem could benefit from some revisions to improve its flow and coherence. For example, the transition from the first to second stanza feels abrupt and could be smoother. Additionally, the final line seems to break away from the rest of the poem's tone and structure, as it rhymes and has a different cadence than the rest.

One suggested line edit could be to change the final line to "dreaming of adventures rare." This change maintains the rhyme scheme while also fitting better with the rest of the poem's imagery and tone. Overall, the poem captures a sense of childlike wonder and awe, but could benefit from some further refinement to strengthen its structure and flow.
