The Merring's Dungal (The Stars Cry)

As I begin to fall away,
I send out waves of love
washing over all the world,
it starts out in the north
flowing south to my home

On every particle of dirt
I fibrillate odes of joy
beating deep into the core
buried in the earth's soil

I longed to leave a mark
but those not carved in stone
though this overflowing organ
never had a riverbed to flow

Linen fields are swaying
starlight is sparkling
one last time for me,
I'm giving away my soul
for innocence be gratis, freed.

Understanding the unknown
has been a lifelong quest
though now I have become
forever what I searched

Memory will forget my face
time will race on past my Ash
but I am leaving you with
symphonies sung to cache

My heart is wattle lined
my mind a red dust hue
this body breaks on the hour
Now, I give it all back to you

In these final moments
hold my unsteady hand.
I will finally be at rest
as I fly into parvargan

I will shine as killing garn

full of Australia! I read it a couple of times, to get the rhythm of it and then I went to see your interpretation of the words I didn't know. Then I read it again! I love your starlit skies! I have been to our local planetarium, and they show both the North and the Southern part of the sky and give a little lecture about the star systems [including legends about how they came to be.] Always, Higgest bugs, ~ Geez.

There is value to commenting and critique, tell us how you feel about our work.
This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

I think I might come from another planet. As long as I can remember I've been in love with the night skies. I am a astrophile, I've been to the observatory in Canberra million years ago it only made me want to know and discover the universe.

Thank you so much for the read and your very kind comment!!

Hello, Jayne,
Looked up a bit of the history and language you've mentioned in this reflective poem. I find the line "I'm giving away my soul..." to grasp the feeling of the entire poem. Powerful images, yet there is the quality of a quiet and humble wisdom, too.
Thank you!
L
