LURK IN THE SHADOW

The hidden
magic of uncertainty
has instigated
a mountain of fear
I'm now a time bomb
waiting to detonate

this serious obnoxious
time is now hanging
in the balance
I may likely
break as brittle shards
to enter into a new hope

my picturization
now a long horizon
a new vista
which correlates
with my heart's
desire

goddess from the silent stars

When she returned to me that day
and saw I’d ceased to hope or pray,
she tore the thorn crown from my brow
and swore to me this sacred vow:

“My love for you has never ceased
and even when I seemed deceased
to you – while all your hair turned grey;
I never really went away.

And now I’ve knocked upon your door
your aching heart will ache no more.
For I will heal the hurt and pain
and never make you grieve again”

a coward's request

strands of spiderweb glistened on blue moonlight
dews sparkled by the marble road
he danced carelessly on the skin of unstable ice,
warmed by yesterday's hepatitis-stricken sun.

one strong foot hanging over a high gorge,
the weaker one stood on thin glass
his fate dangles by a thread acrophobic,
like a coin standing kept upright by blind luck.
death grips the wrist like a cold chain,
and the temptress breathes too close to the ear.

The weight of love

I want to once again
feel you touch my skin
fingers arresting my cheek,
shape me into a star
with strands of atoms
interweaving and colliding,
let's silently slip between
the shadows of amber fire
as the Westminster chimes
morph the awe-inspired
into an eternal montage.

I hold you in my mind
with galaxies vined
across vellum skies,
grant me a universe
where I am swept back
rewinding a hand of time

A North Country Town

I stand in the North of the country
Where Arthur and Merlin once trod
And iced winds blow like a furnace
And strike me like some cursed dog
Lost as the iced winds stab at my face
Yet the Beauty around fills my soul with grace.

I walk the wet streets of the town
As the cold wind blows and sleet falls
But I see only beauty around me
In the streets and the buildings so old
100 years old and older they stand.
Packed shoulder to shoulder on God’s desolate land.

My Prayer

O God!
Help the youth the truth to know
In four years fasting and rumbles
Living in an abject of poverty and tears
Great lofty pains attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign.

Help the youth the truth to know
In sorrow of slavery and humiliation
Under a nameless power
Great sadness attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign.

O God!
Help the youth the truth to know.

A New Reality

Grow old with me
And we shall surely see
The birth of a new society
Where love is spoken first

Evolving into beings
Of purity and grace
Where fear and deceit no longer
Draw lines upon our faces

When goodness as a river
Perpetually now run through us
We will deliver wisdoms’ gifts
Learned from life’s steely lessons

Where we calmly sail as children
Upon the sea of eternity
And patiently we wait to see
The distant land of hopes and dreams

TONIGHT

Like a breeze that blows across a cornfield
That softly caresses the leaves
To which they respond in whisper and song
Like a warm ray of sunshine
That appears after a storm
For life itself has been a storm
That has uprooted my hopes and left them
Upside down or blown them
So far away
To even think about them
Is to grapple in the dark

Technology

Our lives are now in the hands
Of machines that speak
No words
Have no ears
Are devoid of emotions
Take away our choices
Yet is necessary to make the world
Function more efficiently

When a child gave me advice

When a child gave me advice...
It taught me the
meaning of life
through a selfless act
of a sharing give
to grant a wish
to make a difference
in other’s life
never underestimate
the display of the word
Always take it by heart
and portray sincerely
Do not fall behind
with the promise
to find excuses
to disappoint a heart
to do as it was asked
to fulfill its request
without any regret
filled with a sense
of gratitude
