insignificance

‘Watch my drink’
She said
He watched her timid steps
Climbing between warm bodies
Nearly tripping before making it to the door outside

‘Take my coat’
He says,
But with an averted gaze
Was it enough to counteract the offer?

She took his coat.
And later grabbed his wrist, guiding it
making an offer
He welcomed the warmth
And recalls how sweetly she smelled
When he tucked his head under her chin

At The Holy Month Of Ramadan

The holy month's crescent appears,
to fill the hearts with joy, and please,
to bless the world with real relief;
the less fortunate; those in need.

The holy month's crescent appears,
to demolish the poor's heavy tears,
to call for mercy and spread out peace,
not only then, but through out the year.

The holy month's crescent appears,
at the ninth's month of the Islamic year,
the Muslims fast, pursue good deeds
and call to cheer up all their peers.

Anselment

The river absconded with her baby. Twisting; turning; the current carried him out of sight. Noises in the distance meant an end to her plight. Holding her breath, she became a sepulchre, floating evanescently, in a sea of sadness; entombed within her madness.

Her Favorite Shirt

She wore her favorite shirt that day,
A loosely fitting black shirt
With three-quarter sleeves
And buttons up the front
That could be worn over a pull-over.

To the ER she wore her favorite shirt,
Not wanting dinner or even a snack,
A gnawing pain within her stomach,
A disquiet too strong to be ignored
She needed more help than I could give.

A Time For Healing

I think we all have stories sad
From our past we just can't tell,
About those times so long ago
And more recent ones as well.

Through our scars there is a story
That we never should forget,
And if we try to learn from them
Some peace we might find yet.

But time can be a teacher
To show us how from hurt to grow,
A time to find a way to heal
So some comfort we might know.

Doubt

Doubt..
a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction
___________________________
I must be broken because I've pulled myself in two,
Doubt casts it's shadow over me, past mistakes are shining through.

This confidence they talk of is like a hero’s mask, some times we have to wear it through the
hardest of life's tasks.

Doubt is something that can really grip us all. It pretends to keep us safe, as it starts to build
a wall.

A wall we believe we can never climb over, stay here its safer, save the exposure.

Challenge Waiting Room ( Privacy)

HIPAA Laws were enacted to protect and relieve
And allow us the feeling of being safe
Privacy held we all believe!

Yet when I arrive at my Doctor’s I’m cautious
And wait for my turn to be served listening
I am stunned and really feel nauseous!

What do I hear while casually waiting
I question
What the receptionist is saying!

A women appears at the desk
Is asked her SSN, age and given test results
I hear every word when she is told to rest!

Teeter-totter Memories (rewrite)

sliding onto our seats on
the playground teeter-totter
Tommy and I get set to catch
some air feeling like eagles.
squatting, his legs under him
stretching out to push,
sending him high into
cerulean clouds of laughter.
each time feels new and fresh
as the time is Now and...
Now is all there is!

THE NIGHT SKY

The night sky is also blue
This simple observation
Has touched me profoundly
How is it  in all these years
I am just noticing this?

Whenever the world seems to overpower me
I now take a look at these things
That I have known all my life
I look at the leaves of the trees
At the flowers
And these hills I have known since childhood

There are days I feel insignificant
That all this pain I have endured
Even the joys I have experienced
Will mean nothing in the end

Davy rises up

Davy rises up
A giant
Against all the odds
