Challenge Waiting Room ( Privacy)

HIPAA Laws were enacted to protect and relieve
And allow us the feeling of being safe
Privacy held we all believe!

Yet when I arrive at my Doctor’s I’m cautious
And wait for my turn to be served listening
I am stunned and really feel nauseous!

What do I hear while casually waiting
I question
What the receptionist is saying!

A women appears at the desk
Is asked her SSN, age and given test results
I hear every word when she is told to rest!

Her Test results are given
Along with progress of her condition
In a way that is not forgiven!

How can my privacy be maintained
When all can hear every private word
And no such privacy is really sustained!

HIPAA Laws were passed with great intent
While enforcement with open offices
Negate the very purpose these laws were meant!

The below is a computer generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

This poem addresses a pertinent issue in healthcare - the lack of privacy in waiting rooms. The use of HIPAA laws as a starting point is a clever way of highlighting the importance of privacy in healthcare. The poem's structure is simple and straightforward, using rhyming couplets to convey the speaker's frustration and disappointment with the lack of privacy.

One suggestion for a line edit would be to change "Makes me question" in the fifth stanza to "I question". This would make the line more active and direct, reinforcing the speaker's agency and sense of responsibility in the situation.

Overall, the poem effectively captures the unease and discomfort that patients often experience in waiting rooms. It raises important questions about the implementation and enforcement of HIPAA laws, and challenges us to consider how we can better protect patients' privacy in healthcare settings.
