A Harvest Feast

Fresh apples, sweet pears, and pumpkins galore
All harvested, with love and so much more

We share a great meal, united as one
Grateful for the harvest, the work that’s done

A Harvest Feast, such bountiful delight,
Golden fields, ablaze in autumn’s bright light

Beneath the azure sky, we gather near
To celebrate the season, so dear dear

Tables adorned with nature’s given gifts
Fruits and vegetables , their colors lift

The earth’s abundance, such a treasure trove
Nurtured by the sun, amd rain’s gentle strove

I don't want

to taste,
The salt in my own tears.
I don't want to be here.
I dont want to be wearing black.
I dont want to bury you.
I. Just. Want. You. Back.

I will "praise" you out of that grave.

AROUND THE GLOBE

AROUND THE GLOBE

We greet the sun at different times
As our planet turns into the light
And to the new moon, demurred
As I’m waiting for the alarm to ring
A new dawning can bring us hope
When I’m asleep, others are awake
It is time zones for goodness’ sake
But at the poles it’s a slippery slope
Yet communication is everything
As word can be more than a word
Verses translated, for a new insight
As from nature, inspiration climbs

The bane of a cold sore inside my mouth

Sent my smooching life south,
whereby I felt like poor Georgie Porgie,
pudding and pie,
who kissed the girls and made them cry.

The medical term for cold sores,
Herpes Labialis, refers
to the Herpes virus Type 1 (HSV-1)
that most often causes these sores,
though Herpes virus Type 2 (HSV-2)
less often can also be a cause.

Rain

Bright yellows and brilliant reds,
move slowly covering drooping heads.
Grey skies seem so permanent,
they never seem to clear.
The stage is set for the sky to burst,
and yet another downpour.
People moving down crowded streets.
Umbrellas plumed to cover tired heads.
The pitter patter of gentle rain.
Where rainy day people
spend their afternoons.
Enjoying the humid, misty air
When in a flash the sun bursts through
and the bow in the cloud whispers
I love you!

It's Time!

Has
Anyone
Poured the
Pinot,
Yet?

Dearest Sky...

I love the way you look at me
show me your colored skin
The hues that come from nightfall
when the moon is pushing in

Purple, pink and lavender
clouds of fleecy white
I love the sweetness of your breath
when the dawn comes after night

You hold the birds above the trees
bring me sounds of distant things
I see you frame the kids in joy
as they swoosh back and forth on swings

The Point Of No Return

As climate shifts around the world
Have we passed the point of no return?

As hunger seeks its victims
Have we passed the point of no return?

As religions fight to prove they're right
Have we passed the point of no return?

As conservatives and liberals clash
Have we passed the point of no return?

As the rich and poor leave no middle class
Have we passed the point of no return?

As the homeless seek to sleep each night
Have we passed the point of no return?

The Great Blue Eye...

The great blue eye changes color
shifting through each story
Scenes of memes and commercials
T.V. in all its glory

Make your day go fast
with help for your digestion
Watch the former President
be arrested for insurrection

T.V. hosts on game shows
giving cars and money
Contests of smarts and charisma
served by half-dressed honeys

Daytime soaps and dramas
Dr.s , crooks and heroes
Contests with sliding scales
sliding down to zeros

Mantra for a better day

So what if you can’t reach any conclusions
choices unsure
direction lost
nothing resolved
peace of mind unattained

Reject self-centered ugly emotion
leave behind wasted energy
opportunities untaken
mistakes fear frozen tracks
self-inflicted pain

As Satch said, never look back
take a stand
be a part of something
maybe catch a little magic in the wink of an eye
a warm sweet smile
