POTIONT QUATRO

raw
chaffed
burnt by the idol suns
the Hulls sucked waves
on shores where
blood swam
where warriors fought
and warriors won
the vanquished gave
up breath
the booty hauled
aboard tied silenced
hoarded
neath brilliant sails
and row away
from smouldering
cursed village
a sign too those
of what may
return
what will come
too be
of Odin Freya
and Loki!

Vikings are the Norse. Mythology may reflect the real things Vikings did. Due to my knowledge deficiency, I consulted Wikipedia. Pardon me for cheating. But, we do have modern Vikings these days. It reads good. I learn something new.

my favorite books when I was in my twenties, was a book by the name of Bullfinch's Mythology. I picked up at a garage-sale for 2-3 dollars. It was full of Norse Mythology and had all the classic heroes like Thor and Odin, Loki and mythic beasts such as dragons and Grendel. I wish I had that book now, [it's worth much more than I paid for it then,] and it's something I could read again and again. Nice tale of a Norse raiding-party! Thanks, ~ Gee.

and he suffered....But what a story!
blighty scabs of mans history..
some fall healed
and others tell a tale
of exposure and the scrapes
like markings of fate
