Desert Storms

My place of patience always fleeting
Slipping through my very hands
Blown about by my hot air
Like storms that rise from desert sands

It’s best not to disturb the grains
For to the wind they would be cast
Instead I’ll steady mind and heart
Until the savage storm has passed

Rescinding to my inner self
Reflective meditation deep
A trance divine and self imposed
Now awakens me from sleep

I borrow strength from unknown source
I sit within the fray
Time holds dominion over all
Howling winds will fade away

When they do and I remain
I’ll take the energy I’ve saved
Add it to my bag of spoils
Reminders of the trials I’ve braved

these lines of yours captivated me:

I borrow strength from unknown source
I sit within the fray
Time holds dominion over all
Howling winds will fade away

When they do and I remain
I’ll take the energy I’ve saved
Add it to my bag of spoils
Reminders of the trials I’ve braved

I can only hope for the same and to learn from you, dear Bard.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

Beautiful piece about reflecting inward until the storm has passed! Well done as always.

This reads to me of someone battling anxiety or battling to be patient with the world around.

Brilliant poem.

I can find nothing to fault.

Love this Tim! We all face our storms, and this shows there is hope at the end of the day, if we let it alight in our thoughts.

I’m a little surprised by the response to this one. I consider it par for the course but it is motivational and I think it’s pretty universal.

Best community ever here,
Tim
