AUTUMN ARRIVAL

AUTUMN ARRIVAL

I do suppose it’s really here, at last
A soft transition from summer days
As Autumn now creeps in uninvited
Yet many remain who are delighted
A season with depth that can amaze
With its red and golden colour cast

A nip in the air, respect still earned
Nature’s second period of transition
Each neighbouring season has faced
Summer is over, but gently replaced
Yet all is still in a beautiful condition
More than an artist may have learned

A few months of discrete preparation
Whilst the world looks on and nods
Smiling at such maturity on display
As Summer’s bounty is packed away
Yet it still thrives, despite all the odds
Even at the end, almost a celebration
