alone with the blues
I grow tired, weary in fact
looking into
the heart of loneliness
I shiver and buckle
at the knees
left alone I am spinning
looking into
an abyss of despair
I am swallowed
as glass tears shatter
birds of paradise
lay dead
the sunrise refuses
to shine
the orchid declines
to grow
beauty has taken a day off
and I am again alone

Hello JC
you so eloquently remind each of us, how we do in fact ending up carry our burdens alone....
At least this 'dark place' has aligned you with your re-newed creative abilities.

Is it the Jan Blues?
If it is...I'm there too! January skies all around me here...colour grey. Cold, grey endless months of drabness ahead! Love the line 'beauty has taken a day off'...brilliant summary of how I feel at the moment.
Happy 2013...hahahhaahha

Beautiful word "Blue" did loved get you going? She did me!
I love the fact that you share time with your beauty. Appropriate in your case

Which wart of an island are you on?
Yes I too hate winter. I am being particularly afflicted as I am near the Irish Sea and its grey grey grey
Every day day day and I feel SAD( seasonal affective disorder) creeping up on me!
