THE WRATHFUL SEA

Her salted bludgeoning maw
swallowed vessels and galleys
with its green saline gullet of
ulcers
barnacles, and a throat full of oily
spots of acne sticky limpets

Treasures guarded by a circle
of sharks in an ocean restaurant
pinching crabs,
and swaying seaweed keeping naval
secrets.

A wave of wrathfulness, tossing
clubbing, floating ships, drowning
them into the abyss.
stripping seamen Into
skeletons with silent screams.

Supported by a howling killer
of a storm . Ripping, blowing holes
into arthritis wooden decks into oblivion
into the coldest dark depths.

Grandiose Majestic Mountain

There stood a majestic
Craggy face with razor blade
Edges of a monstrous
time honoured mountain

Turning its rocky nose up
at anything below him, robust
Jagged and risky, high stabbing
armour with White shark tip
Cut throated fins.

Bald rugged with a silent manner
cold stone as white as marshmallow
steep and strong, bold and old
broad frosted shoulders

With powdered freckles and a storm grey
complexion it wore a white necklace
and a frosted crown, made
by heaven.

AUTUMN'S CUSP

Mid October a cool day
with a northern cooling breeze.
All hints of summer gone away.
The few green leaves are just a tease.

Tomorrow will bring the first frost
so this day finds me 'neath the trees
absorbing warmth before its lost
and limbering up titanium knees.

For I'm not what I once was.
Time has seen that I am not,
So I sit on a stump to take a pause
and breathe autumn's scent which I'd forgot.

Then turn my face up to the sky
as cool front winds begin to blow.
I watch the clouds as they race by.
They leave like friends I used to know.

My eyes water from sun's glare
so I drop my head down to my chest
letting my chin settle there
while I count the ways that I am blessed.

I'm blessed with our cabin in the trees
I'm blessed with seeing one more fall.
I'm blessed with grandchildren to tease.
I'm blessed with being here at all.

I watch a squirrel climb to its nest
for now the sun is getting low
so ere' it reaches ridge's crest
I arise then turn and go.

 Cage of cards

 Chaotically clustered
cage of
cards covering
all
cynically silent
sides of life
plainly plastered
before my
persistently passing
presence of
the present day.
Thoughtlessly thrashing
out the leisurely
overlapping lanes
of possibilities
prancing through
the pressuring palms
of probability.
With a single stern stomp
taking back the cross
mask of control.
There steadily
stumbled down
the obliquely built
walls of ambiguity
freely falling at
my frivolously
fleeting feet.
Vigorously revealing
the vaguely vapid
valley of victorious
vultures who
persistently preys
upon the weak
minded ones
who decisively numb
themselves within naivety .
But still
I walk forth
ahead through
the foreboding facade
of fear
lying before me.

Echoes

Once there was a man
Who wrote beautiful music
He wrote the music because he was sad
He was sad because he was all alone

But he was noticed for his music
He ended up being loved for it
And in being loved
He lost his sadness
And his music soon after

The stream (all workshops)

This is the stream - you can see all poems on Neopoet, live, as they are created.

eyes

eyes

eyes hold you there
applause subsides
auditorium empties

another night
another show
whispers heard backstage

stage door creaks on
rusted hinges --
opening, allows players' exit

alleyway awake with footsteps
summer moths flutter naked light-bulbs
on aging brick walls -- casting eerie shadows

shuffle a dozen shoes
to street beyond
on the way for a coffee or drink

aura of performance just played fades --
just ahead of lightning and thunder
actors reach the street

From Where it all Comes

"Muse I"

He comes gently
I hear him in my dreams
gives me inspiration
tells me I can fly.
Softly fleeting whispers
I try to catch the quiet
hold it tightly in my hands
till morning
when on paper
I can write,
making inaudible
whispers come to life.

"Muse II"

Seemingly coming from nowhere
these words that I find
dark, forgotten somewhere
beneath clutter in my mind.

POINT SOURCE POLLUTION

A little thing from old site's blog........................

The canary just dropped dead
while swinging in its cage
just one chirp of fear and dread
a definite pollution gauge

The dog whines scratching at the door
attempting to gain fresh air
escape is what he's begging for
an exit from his usual lair

That fly that's been buzzing all day
is twitching on the oval rug
I guess he's down and out to stay
one less fly, I sit and shrug

NAKED

."NAKED"
Margaret Ann Waddicor October 13th 2010.

Naked
inflamed curses
slash open wounds;

Words whip like wind cast twigs
against casement vistas,
worn thin to shivering
pools shaken by your passing fling;

Slips stocking-tight
strangle my gullet,
bulge my eyes to see beside;

My skin hides flaps
descending with a clap
thunder plunders my desires;

Knee deep, limb deep,
I sweep you up so high,
my thighs aghast;

A POEM FOR CHRISTMAS EVE

Come now children, gather near
you know that it's that time of year
when guiding stars adorn the sky
and reindeer are allowed to fly.

The recent harvest fills your tummy
with nuts and sweets and all things yummy.
Now is the best time to remember
if you've been good outside December.

'Cause Santa and his little band
have kept their tally close to hand.
All of those who haven't been so nice
soon will pay a heavy price.

Sculpting Deep Respect

My heart beats honour
Slicing into your image
Sculpting deep respect.

miscreant's cry

`

when
a
soul's cry
is
released
in
words
chosen
and picked

and
there
beauty
in
articulation find....

the
soul
has
bridged
a gap
that
touches both
heart and mind....

A Christmas Blessing

May you find that, if you stray

In December's snow and frost,

Christmas lights will show the way,

Though you are lost.

To the warmth of fire and friends

Who love you most.

Then settle down beside the hearth;

Toast your friendships , new and old.

Aquaintances are ever worth

Far more than miser's ill-got gold

New friends can bring a needed warmth

To men grown cold.

Dance Free - re posted

A dancing figure draped in cobwebs
Rusty on the shelf
Corroded in dark reflection
Forlorn by itself.

Paralyzed in shadows curtain
lost distractions held
Emerged by love a trace of light
Slowly gears un-weld.

Cold mechanics grinding into life
Creaking painful tears
Increasing speed and brilliance
Overcoming fears.

Illuminated eerie spectres
Melting in the blues
A catherine-wheel of particles
splashing coloured hues.

ESTRANGED

I cannot believe
I knew you beyond your name.
A knowledge so intense,
it denied clarity or shame

and yet, there you are now so intimately known,
yet so visibly estranged
Cold, distant, remotely deranged
or is it just me -
alienated, disaffirmed and discarded
by this change

Now it befalls me to realise -
all that I thought I knew was nothing,
compared to what was held from view.
You chose her
and what remains of this Love
I have to eschew...
