mosaic

there it is again,
when moments slide in their exact position
forming a mosaic

that staircase bathed in lurid yellow-gold light,
as the back of your pretty head
and the lovely row of little hills where your spine meets skin
in a tender upward push

i was oblivious back then
to the brutal utilitarian nakedness of the wall,
and the saffron glow of our wrists exposed

walking sluggish five/six paces behind you.

Judas

A betrayer like you
Comes once in a lifetime.
Every man has one.
And every woman fails.
Trust never came easy
As your duplicity was see
Through I never knew its
Name
Your Imentions were covert
Yet they were revealed
In time
My heart was pricked
With the poison arrows
You sent forth.
You left me crucified
And like a soldier in
Battle
You took to flight
On the night I was betrayed,
You were nowhere to
Be found.,
And because of you, I died
A thousand deaths

The Niche (Around The Global Anthology Contest)

Nick the time 'n pick up a chair
Each with a master-piece to share
Open with minds, and arms, and hearts
Poets of talents, show out their arts
Old or young, you'll find a place
Eager for words; mighty and grace;
Touring around the global space

SUBMISSION

I hoped that this would be Nirvana
but I sense that's not to be.
The path seems somehow very tangled
Options seem to block the way.
I got a peek into the garden
But I couldn't find the gate.
I asked for help and got a postcard
That I knew not how to mail.
So I launched it into ether,
Sadly turned and walked away.
Maybe on some other day.

Something And Nothing

When a child I thought I could
unite the outer and inner.
Not now.

There are moments
when the inner comes alive
and suddenly I'm some where else,
I'm some one else
and walk with spirits
as just light.

Only for seconds, before the drear of living
creeps back in.

A loved one's voice, my daughter's knock
upon the door.
The tide's wash upon the water's edge,
hieroglyphs that may mean
something or nothing;
balanced,
then tipped into the future.

Finality of limit

Petty fights erupt on the film skin
of our tiny spinning rocky ball,
The hate invective screamed into
an envelope of clinging air so thin
it can’t be heard
above the limit of the wind
at all

The wide-eyed malicious evil grin
of those who love to make others crawl
in the slow dance of benighted war
while just beyond the planet’s spin
bright peace of mind
waits for the solar wind unwind
of all

Thanksgiving, 2009

With seeming chaos in the kitchen,
a cacophony of sound and confusion,
and four children still learning
about volume control with their voices,
my brother exercises his necessary strategy;
he is the LOUDEST by far!

In an inexplicable miracle of timing,
all the dishes prepared by many hands
make it to the crowded table,
almost impossibly, at the same time!

“I don’t like turkey.”
“I only want to eat dessert.”
“What’s this red jiggly stuff, Mom?”
Somehow, everyone eats their fill

Children of Never

I’m learning to live with what I can get to
Not strangled by the things I don’t
The things I didn’t do today
They can’t own me anymore
Escrow for tomorrow’s fun
Or become children of never
Oh, to love both like my own

Manipulated Attachment

Like everyone else with their strong feelings,
I have fallen in love.

And it feels so…
Obsessively
Incurious.

“I extol you.”
“You are my favorite flower.”

But why be like this for someone that
Doesn’t even treat me right?

RISE TO FALL

and fall
it's FALL!

Sundays we arise
God yours not mine
sleeps
where in heaven
don't ask me

I have seen none
till yesterday
I passed across a street
the house builders shop
he displayed a billboard

''A nicely decorated house
fully artistically furnished
lots of fruits on the dining table
HERE LIVES GOD
IN PEACE
'TIS PARADISE''
