I SNAG A TRUTH OUT OF THE DUSTBIN OF HISTORY

The Truth Squad spies me at the dumpster
and sends a contingent of Keystone Kops
hopping mad at what I made of the reality
I saw beneath the truths of contemporary
conventional wisdom (?)
Soon the joint was jumping as we join into
trying to awaken the Conscious Ewe/You
who had fallen for wasteful pleasures sure
to put one under and at the bottom of the
money monkey pile...
The comical animals, now at the bottom
of the barrel, barely alert except for the
Light Bear who was the bearer of the new
info about the woo-woo way of cutting in
to the cockeyed way of concocting
otherworldly worldviews, began to stir.
"Yo, you came bearing karma from past
incarnations," the Bear roared, "and that
doesn't give you the right to lay there
sucking up customs."
So the hibernation because of habits
stopped as the animal forms hopped
out of the hole of pretending not to know
and stripped of the dysfunctional patterns
they had put on during the dumpster dive
after trinkets of truth that were not that
nourishing, refleshing, spiritualizing...

a funny, meandering, mind-bender that tickled many a fancy. I used to tell my nieces and nephews mixed up bed-time stories that kind of sounded like this. Of course, the language wasn't so adult, but it was fun and something they still talk about. I enjoyed this piece of nonsense and hope that maybe we will see more. ~ Geezer.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

Welcome to Neopoet. I enjoyed the poem, a delight to read
aloud while crisp images float ... thanks for sharing.

I didn't care for the title, just my opinion but feel it gives
too much away. I feel a title should add to colorfully if
possible, not always able to do it myself but I do try.

Again, thanks for submitting, truly enjoyed reading
your poem and look forward to more.
