How

How can you start a fire
Without a little flame?
How can a storm begin
Without a drop of rain?

How can you grow a tree
Before you plant a seed?
How can there be life
If a heart doesn’t start to beat?

How can birds be soaring
If there’s no wings to fly?
How can it be day
When there’s no sun up in the sky?

Some things belong together.
No one can take them apart.
So how can I be happy
If I haven’t got your heart?

"How" is a good title for this piece, IMHO. Your rhymes and imagery are sound. I liked this verse best:

How can birds be soaring
If there’s no wings to fly?
How can it be day
When there’s no sun up in the sky?

I have no suggestions, only appreciation for the work.
welcome to neopoet!

The only thing the: "there's no wings",
there are no wings-there's no wing, ?
If there are no wings that can fly.

This reminds me of a humorous verse,
no offence meant just enjoying...

"If all the world were paper

And all the sea were ink,

If all the trees were bread and cheese

What would we do for drink?

Anonymous, there are several verses, see on net.

but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.
