Food for Thoughts

It’s true this world will grind you down
Obstruct you in so many ways
Depress you firmly to the ground
Like being lost inside a maze
Steal the love and joy away
Sweep the rug out from your legs
Considering these things I say,
“Bring me coffee, bacon, eggs”

Review Request (Intensity):

Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Last few words:
I love going out to breakfast. It’s my favorite meal and I almost never have a bad day if I start it in my favorite establishment.

was a "Carney" and we went over the road to the next spot, there were certain places that we loved to stop. And if there wasn't a stop along the road, the next best thing was the cookhouse! Eating a good breakfast before setting up was paramount! Eggs over easy, home fries, sausage, coffee and rye toast please! Oh, and catsup! I can easily see how having breakfast that you don't have to make, and the atmosphere of a diner, can make you feel hopeful for the day. I hope that you have many opportunities for that, now that the kids are back in school. ~ Geez.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

Hi, Tim,
Yes, breakfast at a favorite diner makes the world a happier place! I used to meet a friend for breakfast on every Wednesday morning for a couple years. We were regulars - greeted and treated as friends by the owners and staff. Once you stepped inside, you left your cares outside. I still have one of their coffee mugs, a sweet reminder of a special place and time. Thanks for the poem!
