friends had a sixty nine mini cooper and that thing could smoke the tyres
they had a vintage maserati too and an english kit car Bentley convertible
Sterling Moss I never heard of....but we watched vintage daytona races as
a kid..sixties and early seventies on the telly at the cottage! my step dads
friend raced side car motorcycles and they both used to watch Pinecrest
dirt track speedway in toronto...vintage track! years later a friend and I
were building a porch on a flip property...(she was business admin and later
was supervisor and is in local town where he lives building federal million
dollar contracts) the neighbour was cleaning up his garage..row houses
built twenties..small front yard...tree lined street ..And he pushed out his
old early too mid fifties racer....from wherelse but Pinecrest! a fantastic
beast of a car with spoiler on rooftop....the old flathead souped up motor!
a great afternoon checking out that car...and another friend I helped work
on his mid seventies ducati racer..(mint condition) we would spend the
mornings at his and his wifes house listening to the bike races on Isle
of Man cranked on the stereo! yes I have had some fun times as a youth!
car culture! and the softer intelligent side of the driven female influence!
