THE WRATHFUL SEA

Her salted bludgeoning maw
swallowed vessels and galleys
with its green saline gullet of
ulcers
barnacles, and a throat full of oily
spots of acne sticky limpets

Treasures guarded by a circle
of sharks in an ocean restaurant
pinching crabs,
and swaying seaweed keeping naval
secrets.

A wave of wrathfulness, tossing
clubbing, floating ships, drowning
them into the abyss.
stripping seamen Into
skeletons with silent screams.

Supported by a howling killer
of a storm . Ripping, blowing holes
into arthritis wooden decks into oblivion
into the coldest dark depths.

Grandiose Majestic Mountain

There stood a majestic
Craggy face with razor blade
Edges of a monstrous
time honoured mountain

Turning its rocky nose up
at anything below him, robust
Jagged and risky, high stabbing
armour with White shark tip
Cut throated fins.

Bald rugged with a silent manner
cold stone as white as marshmallow
steep and strong, bold and old
broad frosted shoulders

With powdered freckles and a storm grey
complexion it wore a white necklace
and a frosted crown, made
by heaven.

AUTUMN'S CUSP

Mid October a cool day
with a northern cooling breeze.
All hints of summer gone away.
The few green leaves are just a tease.

Tomorrow will bring the first frost
so this day finds me 'neath the trees
absorbing warmth before its lost
and limbering up titanium knees.

For I'm not what I once was.
Time has seen that I am not,
So I sit on a stump to take a pause
and breathe autumn's scent which I'd forgot.

Then turn my face up to the sky
as cool front winds begin to blow.
I watch the clouds as they race by.
They leave like friends I used to know.

My eyes water from sun's glare
so I drop my head down to my chest
letting my chin settle there
while I count the ways that I am blessed.

I'm blessed with our cabin in the trees
I'm blessed with seeing one more fall.
I'm blessed with grandchildren to tease.
I'm blessed with being here at all.

I watch a squirrel climb to its nest
for now the sun is getting low
so ere' it reaches ridge's crest
I arise then turn and go.

 Cage of cards

 Chaotically clustered
cage of
cards covering
all
cynically silent
sides of life
plainly plastered
before my
persistently passing
presence of
the present day.
Thoughtlessly thrashing
out the leisurely
overlapping lanes
of possibilities
prancing through
the pressuring palms
of probability.
With a single stern stomp
taking back the cross
mask of control.
There steadily
stumbled down
the obliquely built
walls of ambiguity
freely falling at
my frivolously
fleeting feet.
Vigorously revealing
the vaguely vapid
valley of victorious
vultures who
persistently preys
upon the weak
minded ones
who decisively numb
themselves within naivety .
But still
I walk forth
ahead through
the foreboding facade
of fear
lying before me.

Echoes

Once there was a man
Who wrote beautiful music
He wrote the music because he was sad
He was sad because he was all alone

But he was noticed for his music
He ended up being loved for it
And in being loved
He lost his sadness
And his music soon after

Paradise Gained

Paradise Gained

You've paved a way,
To paradise you say,
You have a heart
And
need no brains any way

So now that you reside
In paradise all day
Donate your head and brains,
If any, to strangers
Who stray thy way?

Keep your heart anyway
Brains are a waste
Throw them away,

Yes that’s right
Straight away

More Than Words Could Ever Say

The other night, I let you down
and, I never even saw it coming;

the blues music, in the background strumming,
while you played the game.

The other day, you made it crystal clear, to me
how you were angry when we closed our eyes, that night,

and somehow, that doesn't seem quite right,
though I held you just the same;

I count my blessings, for the time I'm sharing with you;
every second, of every hour, of every day;

Dad

Too much feeling
I devised distractions.
To filter out the pain..

When you came home
The key in the lock
Made me hold my breath

I hit the dimmer switch
And you were gone,
But not for long.

So agressive , so strong
size imposing,
choking the life out of mum

Positive Energy

Bubbles floating into the conscious sea
Whipped air-borne
Riding the currents of reality.

Leached from the mind of a healthy psyche
Effervescent
Loosing florescent fractures of memory.

Randomly expanding and bursting free
Abstract thought
Travelling toward the outer galaxy.

Flashing atoms of luminosity
Firing
Pulsating charges of electricity.

Relaying across the synaptic tree
Particles
Exciting cognitive imagery.

FOG

Driving slowly through a predawn void
road's center line all that I can see
all senses are fully employed
to not crash into an unseen tree

Come daylight I am at my goal
as the fog begins to swirl
like water on a rocky shoal
I watch each tiny droplet twirl

It's still impossible to focus
eyes strain to ferret out detail
of objects in my present locus
along a barely seen game trail

Pillow Note

Missing me sweetheart?
I know this brought on a smile
keep it on for me

cherise chime

touch me where I burn
your pang
a key in the black latch
the long hair
soft
like snow descending
in its fall

this burial love
that churns
beneath the winters
hush

let me heal these
visions with hands
reading you where
they touch

CROSS ROADS / IS THIS THE TIME?

CROSS ROADS / IS THIS THE TIME?

Choices stare me in the face
And I’m too young to choose
Different roads to win the race
And such a lot to lose…

We’re all looking for the answers
We’re all trying to find our way
And though my mind is set on leaving
My heart still wants to stay…

So…
Is this the time I’ve waited for?
Can this be all, or is there more?
Is this the time, must I
Pass through that door?
Is this the time I’ve waited for…

His First Love Remembered

Poetic showers,
Song, blanket
Pulling, breathless breathing,
pushing
Heaving
This is a cute and maiden
Pornographic measure of ecstasy
They have permitted
As it scores in dignified decency
The gradual lust
Slowly rises the masculinity,
As orgasms
He her first
The feminity
Laps all juices of joy
A flower full of petals strewn
For the bee or boy
To sexily enjoy

TOUCHLESS CAUSE

wake to drizzle of light
a cold new year
suffused in mists
in distant thought

for all that I want
it melted like snow
on the blank dark face
of street
and joined the other
voices in the stream
singing to the lake

I saw the last year ghosts
mingling amongst tree hosts
gleaming on the limbs

how I loved this cool pause
these pools of puddles
alive in this thaw
thus begins anew
the awe
