To Unlove You

I'm learning how
To unlove you

It hurts worse than loving you,
Knowing you don't love me back.

Abandoned

Submitted by Mary Beth Magee

She bobbed there in the gentle swell,
The little boat I knew so well.
The sail wrapped tight along the boom
Gave me a feeling of dark doom.
I saw no anchor chain hung down
To stop her, lest she run aground.
No one sat in her empty bow.
No hand controlled her keel just now.
A gentle breeze set her to rock.
How did she get loose from the dock?
As the breeze caused her to turn,
I spotted paint along her stern.
Rough letters where my name had been -
The words now looked like "Mortal Sin."
What had he done in dark of night?
Was he convicted by dawn's light?
Then in the reeds beside the dock…
What I saw gave me quite a shock.
A body, face down, on the lake,
Could it be him, for heaven's sake?
Please, no, I prayed and backed away.
What pushed him so, I cannot say.
I didn't dream that he would dare.
I only know I lost him there.

Neopoet Weekly 06/09/24 to 06/15/24 Winner!

This week’s winner is Lavender with the following poem

Winning Poem

Magic

Submitted by Lavender

A falling star settled on my rose,
a diamond dipped in velvet clothes.
I dared not touch the pure gift
sent from heaven, so swift,
but let it rest there
in such sweet air
and comply
to my
wish.

Neopoet Weelky 06/02/24 to 06/08/24 Winner!

This week’s contest winner is hippiemoon with following poem:

Archeology

By: hippiemoon

Years from now,
We will be dead and buried.
Your laugh nothing more than
A whisper in the wind,
A breeze carrying off dandelion wishes.

Our headstones will rest together,
Aging together, as we did in life.
Tears from our loved ones will mix with rain
And our memory will fade with the engravings.

And years from now,
We’re forgotten by everyone but the Earth.
They will dig our bodies up
And find our bones entwined in each other’s arms.

Something New

Rain rushes from the skies
Mixing with a single tear
The wind cuts through
Like every doubt, every fear

Lightning shatters my peace
Like the pieces of my mind
A distant thunderclap mocks
Of the girl I was and left behind

A tornado rages in my head
Demolishing my peace and joy
I plaster on a smile for you,
But it's just a tactic I employ

The fear paralyzes my heart
Yet I'm so tired of being afraid
It is time to get up and fight
Before my resolve starts to fade

My fingers curl around my sword
I lift it high, I've got my armor on
I bring it down with all my strength
Until the shattered pieces are gone

There is no fixing the girl I was
No use in buying time with glue
The only solution is to shatter her
And forge with fire Something New

Despair

Despite everything sucks, pure anxiety irascible ratshit.
Devilish entertainment surely pertains against indulgent rashness
Doing everlasting sensuality prevent all incessant regurgitations?
Does excellence surely prevail always inexorably returning?

Mais oui!
Definitely Elf survives permanently, allways incredibly relishing

l a v e n d a r . . . g a t e . . . .

the snow was falling
like a gate
the bulb was burning full o fhat
the door was open
just ajar

the tracks were leading
but not far

no one there to run
the car
no light turned off
the storm was far

the snow crept in
and melted fast
the flakes kept falling
dark to last

no one now speaks
of things
left past

when winter nights
come flurry seek

My heart

You often take my breathe away
Which is more then I can ever say
For any other dime or stray
That has ever come my way
With you, it’s been different
Way different
From any other
I remember when I was that shy guy
Who caught your eye
Who would be afraid to try
Any thing
You liked that. But I think you like it more
Now that I’ve grown into a man that you adore
More mature
Yea, you like it… but it is what we have that you love
I remember the first time I laid eyes on you

PUPPETEER

They disbelieve the evidence
and say I don't exist
but I just laugh and carry on
adding to my woeful list.

I am the whisper in the ear
that unrelenting voice at night
egging on another pawn
to do what none can say is right.

You've seen my work in Nordic lands
my winds were reaped at Columbine
and at a movie's first premier.
Perpetrators all were friends of mine.

Manson is a favorite son
Osama now burns at my side
Son of Sam heeded my prods
Wournos attends me like a bride.

icarus

her love lifted me to the Sun,
The heart-break moulted my wings,
i crashland into a sea of despair.

Without money

You are dead without money
Familiar as the saying goes
Visitations bring strange sad tales
With the loss of clout to purchase
Self confidence starts to erode
Stagnant shadow grows tall from base
Time ticks, the world moves on with it

You are dead without money
You know it is not really true
With breathe and health, the mind assigns
Instinct of self preservation
Exchange battered into money
Resources are sold on demand
The lazy man dies of hunger

in a pocketful of dreams

around her finger lies a rainbow's vow
that promised her a silvery-golden moon
still, after all the years spent, even now
around her finger lies a rainbow's vow
bestowed by one in history kept, somehow
within a telegram's curt words of doom
around her finger lies a rainbow's vow
that promised her a silvery-golden moon

Xmas Doldrums

Xmas Doldrums

Are we ever to be rid of
the parasite called royal.
They’re attached to the
wealth of our country
like skin to a boil.
Unwanted by most of
the needy crowd, the voice
of the poor crushed if
it appears to loud.

Their incessant greed
is unmatched, it is a
heartless but not
a modern crime.
No austerity gripping
their greatness for
their plans had already
hatched. It was their
most sadistic of all
reign time.

if only 'twere my hands....

I would've be able to answer you
touch me not
for the love of life,
my hands are scorching bloody white hot

you seem to touch many a hands
never mind

I hate one night stands
Not that I profess others to ignore

sex is loving
for only true lovers for sure…
if you are one
hold her hand
but only if till you can stand

if there is no vulgarity
serenity is all we look into it...
its naturality
and sexiness shall be privy

A Miracle

I'm having a miracle
Wow, what a thrill
my husband's over the moon
smiling broadly like a loon
to me pregnancy is a pain
all this weight I've had to gain
seems I have to bloom
because I've a full womb
people patting my belly as if its their's
rubbing away all my cares
I've two months to go
time passing so slow
then there's the labour
epidural my saviour
midwife fiddling with my bits and bobs
checking temperature, taking swabs
