WASTE NOT

Once a fancified city slicker feller
was driving down a country road
when he hit a deer busting his radiater
scared him so bad he near dropped a load

I reckon the dude was still in luck
'cuz there wuz a farm house in sight
of where he had to stop his truck
a mere phone call would set things right

So he eased up on the porch on front
where he was met by a three legged pig
which hopped about with happy grunt
the oinker was both tame and big

RUSE

uncovered and revealed
the revelation untwined
the false dawning of all
the word submerged

held at the edge
like a frightened wave
like aurora sweeping
I seek you
I see you

in the falling winter rains
in the dark river mane
I hear you whisper my name
where my heart you claimed

desire you said was a cutting flame
where you would remove the chains
where the gate called fame
would remove the opulence of
innocence like a smashed chalice

Unoriginal (Cliche Workshop)

I'm game
Fresh as a summer's rain
A rolling stone gathering
no moss
A mile a minute

My frame
The lesser of two evils
Is a necessary evil
My acid test
Rotten to the core

I'm sane
Nose to the grindstone
The icing on the cake
that knocks
the cover off the ball
and Knocks that ball
Right out of the park

Cry Me a River (Cliche's Workshop Poem)

It's all good when some say
Keep it on the down low
then it ain't nothing but a chicken wing

There are those that insist on having it their way
Too hot to trot when expected to change
Then talk a mile a minute tuning out understanding

At other times too many cooks spoil the broth
then Silence is golden
and emotions are free as a bird

When love is blind
sex becomes a necessary evil and
all hands to the pump lose control

Life

Old woman in the corner
Bent and weary worn
Regales her family with days of yore.

When it was all good and
Wrinkles were like hens teeth
And false teeth were on the down low.

Life goes a mile a minute
When your filled with the vigour of youth
A rolling stone gathers no moss

Free as a bird and
fresh as the summers rain
Your love is deeper than the deepest ocean

But it's nose to the grind stone
There is no icing on the cake
Too many cooks spoil the broth

Intrepid (Cliché Workshop poem)

intrepid

damn you charlie brown,
tiny tim and sam hall,

It's all (finger lickin') good
and it ain't nothing but a chicken wing

when you're hot to trot
and too many cooks (doth) spoil the broth

keep it on the downlow you say,
silence is golden

but I'm free as a bird
when love is blind

a necessary evil
the lesser of two (evils)

the icing on the cake
the acid test when love is blind

and scarce as hen's teeth
free as a bird

Acid Test (Re-write)

I listen to your words
and laugh at your lack of originality
You call yourself an artist
I call you a fake

You think your rhymes
Are elementary
Mean something in this universe
They have superiority.

But I can surely tell you now
I mock your every word
You make me laugh when you
Spill out your quotes.

You pretend that you don't want fame
You want anonymity
You want to live your life at full throttle
Then you pretend you're laid back

inbetween two worlds

"I hear she was sentenced
to life."
said one angel to another

the wind pressed on the meadow green
daisies roared like young waterfalls
willows danced in the sun like naked trees

only a cry was heard
this side of heaven.

REGIONAL BLOCK - ECOWAS

Our family ties, by custom, complex
Some in simple units of man and spouse
Ours, with three wives and fifteen children
A step sister slapped by a half brother
In brawl from play by younger ones
Entire household engulfed in militancy
A sketchy spectacle for the passers by
