In the Evening!

Warm colorful melodies
are floating on the breeze
blended with emotion
the folks there, stop to see
stars fall thru young lovers eyes
they dance neath autumn trees
following the lamplight
down a cobbled street
the moon shows her sleepy head
as folks begin to leave
and silently they slip away
as though they were but a dream!

I’ll Follow

Wheresoever on this earth
You feel you need to go
Allow me to accompany you
Bathing in your glow

Proximity is my desire
For when you hold me close
My soul ignites eternal fire
My heart is like blooming rose

But roses fade with summer suns
All things move in waves
You come and go like senseless tides
And all the force they have

Change the faces of my shore
Shaping our tomorrow
I take your hand in solemn vow
Where you go, I’ll always follow

We Could Be Legends

We could take this world by storm
We could heal the hearts that are torn
We could protect others with our lives
Or fight the darkness until light arrives

We could be why somebody else doesn't quit
We could be the ones the world can't forget
We could set this whole country on fire
We could take a risk and live on a high wire

ella

esas noches de noviembre nosotras dos juntas
divirtiendonos bajo la luna
te veias tan hermosa tus ojos brillaban y me enamoraban mas

perdon.....

Perdition

You are the gait poetry takes when it wants a fight.
Unbidden onset. Fleet and feral.
You are atrocities uncovered, cast in archaic forge.
You are the mirror eyed beast in every night.
Taut jawed. Slick faced. Razor toothed.
You are screams without sound in a slow motion dream.
You are virulent and merciless in vein.
You are waking bathed in painful perdition.
You are the blood I beat. The sweat I drink.
You are it.
All.
Every.
And done.

Poacher’s Snare

Poacher’s Snare

In silent wood with anxious pace, I creep below broad bower,
And follow scent of early dawn, inhaling nature’s power.
Secret life in damp earth, hidden dark and deep,
The vixen and her cubs, protected as they sleep.

I take another covert step, close to her construction,
The vixen pokes her nose out black, distressed by interruption.
My sniper’s boot breaks a twig and cracks a violent round,
And nervous vixen terror froze, kits hidden underground.

Second Cup

She stands in the doorway
twisting, turning, and stretching,
intent on informing me of her decisions.
A velvety-smooth approach
I’ve delighted in many times.

“I think I’m going to have a second cup of coffee,
and stay in my pajamas a while longer.
I hope you’re okay with this?”

“I think you would be foolish not to,” I say.
“The best thing about knowing you’ll have a second cup
is it makes the first cup that much more amazing,
because you know you’re going to do it again.”

Death by Dreaming

I don’t want to burn in a blazing plane,
be bludgeoned to death by my brother, Cain.
I d rather O.D. with a hemlock drink,
snuffed out like a candle before you blink.

Don’t want to be skewered by a shark at sea,
fast food for the fishes – a feast for free.
I’d rather collapse in a heap on land,
be buried beneath the soil or the sand.

I don’t want to die of a broken heart,
left lonely by lover to fall apart.
I’d rather a dagger was plunged in deep
to save me a lifetime of tears I’d weep.

Last Kiss

When with a kiss on that day we did part
Love still filled our hearts.
A pointless war ripped us apart.
Filled with dreams and wishes that last kiss.
To last forever we both did wish.

Yet fate would deal its hand
upon the shores of a foreign land.
There I fell
In that living hell.

Our wishes and dreams lost
Forever.
But,
That last kiss
For you
A life time,
Will last.

CHANGELESS

I walk through a storm of autumn leaves
which swirl and fall like colored snow,
pitched and tossed on a cold breeze
until they join their brethren down below.

These leaves have made paths indistinct
but I've been here oft times before
when route was marked clear as if inked.
I hardly need maps any more.

This white oak on this steep hillside?
I watched a doe feed here one morning
sun shining on her winter coat
till she snorted and left without a warning.
