The stream (all workshops)
Resolutions made
The day of the year arrives
Unseen, unfulfilled
Familiar footsteps racing down the stairs.
Crawling inside myself as Satan himself appears.
Hoping he won't notice while stalking through the room.
Flashbacks hit like lightening strikes; tired old fears.
Twist the words falling from my lips.
Breathing the same air has become a capitol offense.
Try not to stare, even into space.
How he hates the look of my face!
I try so hard to speak of peace
on any given day.
The clouds roll in, the rain it falls.
To catch me in their sway
my mind is an unsettled thing,
without the means to play.
And though I fall one thousand times
it never will give way.
It grinds my soul to powder,
and never goes away.
But if I wish upon a star
I just might find a way
to grasp the hope I really need.
To make a peaceful day
Fireworks, and beds in dress.
I am still looking on it.
Come on' Come on'
Steve won't wonder
I won't know.
Steve won't wonder.
Steve won't.
Oh life is a starfish surprise.
When Stev-e knows
What Steve won't know
Life is a paradise, when people around Stev-e know, what.
Steve won't know.
Steve knows.
I can't see the things I use to see
My sense of touch is not that great,
The sounds of children's laughter
May go unheard or be too faint.
Decisions I use to make so quickly
Now I ponder most every task,
Questions go unanswered now
I may forget the questions asked.
Memories from many years ago
Seem they happened just last year,
To recall from just an hour passed
Leaves not a single thing that's clear.
A Promise for me
A New Year Resolution
Chance for brand new start
A proposed plan for true change
Promising me a new life
I carry the wisdom seed
from the nurturing mind
of own integrity display
Through the path of journey life
Each sunrise I count the blessing
from the days bring me to see
maturity grows in me
with a self-paced discovery
Despite I am young at heart
In the mirror of portray
With the instinct aglow in me
Showcase kindness to others
Reflect true beauty advice
bring a smile to the face
with each chapter

I remember when I was young
and had so many years ahead.
Things change.
I remember when I got my first job
and fifty cents an hour seemed enough.
Things change.
I remember the war in Southeast Asia,
hoping this might be our last.
Things change.
I remember starting a career,
wanting it would last forever.
Things change.
I remember buying our first home
when one bedroom was all we needed.
Things change.
