Spider Webb Hall

Many stare and wonder,
Gazing on Spider Webb Hall,
Living true to its name,
From low to top encased in webs,
New and old,
The decaying manor wrapped in stringy white,
Rumors of a monster spider,
And ghostly victims,
No one ventures in, too wary,
And how right they were to be,

Warnings and superstitious folk,
Do tell to never leave home after dark,
And especially on old Hallows Eve,
As the full moon reaches its peak,
A boy lost and trapped after dark,
Searching wandering,
He came upon the manor,
Young, curious and new death cold,
He had ignored all warning and
ventured into Spider Webb,

Past the ancient decaying doorway,
And the moonlight faded,
Into a bat blinded darkness,
Breath hitched and unsure,
Boy stumbled through the dark,
Unaware of a sinner's wrath,
As glowing eyes watched in the shadows,

All instincts where telling the boy to leave,
To calmly reach the door and run,
And brave the winter night,
But he ignored the warning,
His futile warnings,
As his stalker scuttled behind,

Boy stumbled blindly and greatly missed home,
Luck was no issue as found a room,
But no normal room,
It filled up by the brim of bone and dust,
A shriek retreated from his lips,
Lit up in a corner was a candle,
Illuminating a message scrawled,
On the wall,
Death's stench trapped in mere letters,
“Spider Webb's Lord never lets his guests leave...”

A lantern fell and the boy jumped,
To meet a man elderly and stark white,
Boy approached him enthralled,
In illusion unknown to us,
Elder clasped his hand on his and led him and away,
Leaving behind fresh remains,

Spider Webb Lord has a new guest ,
At this party of the dead,
No one is ever invited and all
have never left,
The halls of Spider Webb.
