Leaves have palms

Our tree-trunk souls bend in the wind to dance not yield,
And their leaves have palms,
and they clap vigorously at funerals of fallen trees.
Their leaves cup rainstorms a single drop per serving.
When time is unkind, our roots a a dishevelled mess
And the leaves fall with no funerals.
