Feeling Lost/Take me home

Take me home
to where I belong
This is my prayer
and this is my song
give me food,
give me music
to change my mood
give me courage
give me strength
so that I could
work a day's length.
Give me the lyrics
and give me the song
that will teach me
the right from wrong
Give me the words
to educate my tongue
teach me oerseverance
to make me strong
Take me home
where I will be stronger
Take me home
not feeling lost any longer
Take me home
Take me home.

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

The poem, "Feeling Lost/Take me home," presents a clear and consistent theme of longing for home and the strength it provides. It uses the repetition of the phrase "Take me home" effectively to emphasize this longing. However, there are a few areas that could be improved for a more impactful reading experience.

1. Rhyme and Rhythm: The poem seems to lack a consistent rhyme scheme and rhythm. While not all poetry needs to adhere to a strict structure, having a consistent pattern can help to enhance the musicality of the poem and make it more engaging.

2. Imagery: The poem could benefit from more concrete imagery. Instead of directly stating "give me food," "give me music," or "give me courage," consider using more descriptive language to evoke these concepts. For example, "feed me with the fruits of knowledge," or "let the symphony of wisdom change my mood."

3. Show, Don't Tell: The poem could benefit from the use of 'show, don't tell.' Instead of telling the reader to "teach me perseverance," show how the speaker learns and embodies perseverance.

4. Word Choice: The word "oerseverance" seems to be a typographical error. It's important to proofread the poem to ensure that all words are spelled correctly.

5. Line Breaks: Consider the use of line breaks to control the pace of the poem and to add emphasis to certain phrases or ideas. For example, breaking the line after "Take me home" could add more weight to this repeated phrase.

6. Theme Development: While the theme of longing for home is clear, it could be developed further. Consider exploring why the speaker feels lost and what home represents to them. This could add depth to the poem and make the speaker's longing more relatable to the reader.

In conclusion, while the poem effectively communicates a sense of longing, it could benefit from more attention to structure, imagery, and theme development.
