Eastertide

I'll sing a song of Eastertide
Before the sun will set;
Of the rising of the three-day dead
And the joy of chocolate eggs.

I'll make a tune of trifling joys
Set to manuscript, note by note
And coax my spirit's new employ
Of cooking for the neighbour's kids.

I'll do much good, so when I die
And in my cold grave lie,
You'll think some good of me a while
So in my death, I smile.

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Last few words:
Happy Easter neopoet. Keep the good works coming!

Tut Tut, your lack of religious upbringing is showing here lol,
A good piece of fun, but on the other hand if you were serious, OMG as they do in texting..
Please tell me before I say more,
Or that I have to open a grave
to see if the one in there is grave.
Grave in a grave would be Grave.
Yours Seriously, Ian.T

.
There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

Not lack, really. I'm rather an uncomfortably religious/superstitious person, with healthy relapses of rationality. In my poetry, I try to flee from my upbringing and explore the life "out of bounds"

"Grave in a grave, says you,
Merely brooding o'er existence, says I,
Given that, whichever is true
Is that which pleases the beholder's eye.

And do not be bothered
to open that casket.
The dead won't be disturbed
if they haven't asked it." :D

Like most religious holidays Easter has become a 2 sided celebration. this is a fun treatment of the lighter side........stan

That was the intended effect. Glad it worked here. :)
