THE WRATHFUL SEA

Her salted bludgeoning maw
swallowed vessels and galleys
with its green saline gullet of
ulcers
barnacles, and a throat full of oily
spots of acne sticky limpets

Treasures guarded by a circle
of sharks in an ocean restaurant
pinching crabs,
and swaying seaweed keeping naval
secrets.

A wave of wrathfulness, tossing
clubbing, floating ships, drowning
them into the abyss.
stripping seamen Into
skeletons with silent screams.

Supported by a howling killer
of a storm . Ripping, blowing holes
into arthritis wooden decks into oblivion
into the coldest dark depths.

Grandiose Majestic Mountain

There stood a majestic
Craggy face with razor blade
Edges of a monstrous
time honoured mountain

Turning its rocky nose up
at anything below him, robust
Jagged and risky, high stabbing
armour with White shark tip
Cut throated fins.

Bald rugged with a silent manner
cold stone as white as marshmallow
steep and strong, bold and old
broad frosted shoulders

With powdered freckles and a storm grey
complexion it wore a white necklace
and a frosted crown, made
by heaven.

AUTUMN'S CUSP

Mid October a cool day
with a northern cooling breeze.
All hints of summer gone away.
The few green leaves are just a tease.

Tomorrow will bring the first frost
so this day finds me 'neath the trees
absorbing warmth before its lost
and limbering up titanium knees.

For I'm not what I once was.
Time has seen that I am not,
So I sit on a stump to take a pause
and breathe autumn's scent which I'd forgot.

Then turn my face up to the sky
as cool front winds begin to blow.
I watch the clouds as they race by.
They leave like friends I used to know.

My eyes water from sun's glare
so I drop my head down to my chest
letting my chin settle there
while I count the ways that I am blessed.

I'm blessed with our cabin in the trees
I'm blessed with seeing one more fall.
I'm blessed with grandchildren to tease.
I'm blessed with being here at all.

I watch a squirrel climb to its nest
for now the sun is getting low
so ere' it reaches ridge's crest
I arise then turn and go.

 Cage of cards

 Chaotically clustered
cage of
cards covering
all
cynically silent
sides of life
plainly plastered
before my
persistently passing
presence of
the present day.
Thoughtlessly thrashing
out the leisurely
overlapping lanes
of possibilities
prancing through
the pressuring palms
of probability.
With a single stern stomp
taking back the cross
mask of control.
There steadily
stumbled down
the obliquely built
walls of ambiguity
freely falling at
my frivolously
fleeting feet.
Vigorously revealing
the vaguely vapid
valley of victorious
vultures who
persistently preys
upon the weak
minded ones
who decisively numb
themselves within naivety .
But still
I walk forth
ahead through
the foreboding facade
of fear
lying before me.

Echoes

Once there was a man
Who wrote beautiful music
He wrote the music because he was sad
He was sad because he was all alone

But he was noticed for his music
He ended up being loved for it
And in being loved
He lost his sadness
And his music soon after

nirvanic prance

into me
I wonder why the world saddens
as if twere I alone
seeking happiness
in the madness of misery
all alone
twas my lot perhaps
I may not moan
and add that many think of the mundane world
as bad,
but rejoice,
you are about to reach a stage of happiness
bliss
kiss and as you awaken your kundalini
Nirvana lays down bare before thee
hopefully thou shalt enjoy the prance,
some call it a mythical dance
but in heaven as drums beat
the Lordships enjoy a lovers retreat

Male Contraceptuve Pill

Male Contraceptive Pill
my heart stands still
give up control
of such an important role
some can't iron a shirt
but able to prevent birth

Will they beep at allotted time?
in my head alarm bells chime
Is it too much to be asking?
wouldn't it be multi-tasking?
expecting him to do the deed
and stop the spread of seed

I'm sorry lads, this one I don't trust
my own birth control is a must

In the End

the dance has begun

silence

I sit in the shadows
 as gently I expel
  the shards of glass
from my heart

an angel fell
 and the unfeeling
  began, cut free
I am loosed

gutted, left for dead
 I flounder and grasp
  in grief, I am lost
in your purgatory

you've dressed me
 in your rags and gone
  I've stumbled and
fallen from nirvana

I look to the sky
 for a message of hope
  a sign of repentance
but the sky is black

Personal Abuse

I remember when you smiled
You showed most of your teeth
Thinking back…
I picture it like your skull
Or when you blushed from laughter
You turned so red
Red…, red…, red…
Like the blood you drew from me
Hollow egg…
Empty shell…
But with a stomach
Filled with alcohol
Some nights it’s hard to sleep
Why did you turn out like this?
I cannot take back
What was taken from me
But if I take from you
Then I can get back to sleep
If a permanent solution is wrong

An Earth Angel Short-lived

A huge shadow fell over my heart
on 2013's dawn,

a few weeks ago, diagnosed
and now, an "earth angel", is gone!

She didn't live an easy life
but, joy did dance in her eyes;

I watched that joy drain quickly
as her spirit ceased it's cries.

I'll always be able to celebrate
Debi's life, and not her end;

I hold her dear in my mind's library
so, she'll forever be my friend.

In my inner heart of hearts
and in the center of my mind,

The Cold Caress

The shimmer
of it
fascinates
until the touch

A cold hand
trying
to caress you

Sweat-creeping
betraying the facade

The tainted trap
laid by detectives
determined
deceivers

Springing forth
pouring
or the beautific glow
of athletic youth

The cold caressing
stench steaming
all over
passions spent

Like tasting
trickles of sour
rancid flesh

devouring the taste
of your
cold caress

GHOST LANGUAGE

Singed edges, ancient pages,
faded vellum paled by time,
the ever growing patina of our dreams,
there written in the minds of every man and woman,
this secret book of words, not ever spoken,
allowed to be quite silent, still, unbroken,
what gems, what horrors,
what is hidden from out eyes, a wealth of thoughts
that always come to nought,
and yet their meanings have been useful now and then,
when needed by the host;
perhaps becomes the language of our ghosts.

Crossroads

Standing at a crossroads
not knowing which way to turn
one could be salvation
one crash and burn

No control over his life
drugs and alcohol addicted
all his vices self-inflicted
pleasing anyone who'd buy him a drink
not much lower could he sink
Rehab or an early grave
a decision he could no longer stave
to his addictions a slave

Dogs know everything

before the wave broke causing death and destruction
the dogs fled inward from the coastal stations
knowing the worst was yet to come,
desperate to save themselves, saw some
men unlike the animals gazing out to sea
Wondering at the sudden tranquility.
The beach had suddenly become vast
waters receded, fish breathing their last
Man not realising till the wave churned
All were engulfed, some never returned

just great...

just about great

poets must compose
so that many continue to search
the heart of the creator at that moment
I step into the soul of my subject
to imagine how I'd feel
had I been the one in that situation
none-the less,
each one must have one’s own fibre
to brave the knife
the sword,
the curse
the slicing tongue
how can I ever be all in one
so my feelings are the outcome
of one’s peculiar situation
as at that moment
