THE WRATHFUL SEA

Her salted bludgeoning maw
swallowed vessels and galleys
with its green saline gullet of
ulcers
barnacles, and a throat full of oily
spots of acne sticky limpets

Treasures guarded by a circle
of sharks in an ocean restaurant
pinching crabs,
and swaying seaweed keeping naval
secrets.

A wave of wrathfulness, tossing
clubbing, floating ships, drowning
them into the abyss.
stripping seamen Into
skeletons with silent screams.

Supported by a howling killer
of a storm . Ripping, blowing holes
into arthritis wooden decks into oblivion
into the coldest dark depths.

Grandiose Majestic Mountain

There stood a majestic
Craggy face with razor blade
Edges of a monstrous
time honoured mountain

Turning its rocky nose up
at anything below him, robust
Jagged and risky, high stabbing
armour with White shark tip
Cut throated fins.

Bald rugged with a silent manner
cold stone as white as marshmallow
steep and strong, bold and old
broad frosted shoulders

With powdered freckles and a storm grey
complexion it wore a white necklace
and a frosted crown, made
by heaven.

AUTUMN'S CUSP

Mid October a cool day
with a northern cooling breeze.
All hints of summer gone away.
The few green leaves are just a tease.

Tomorrow will bring the first frost
so this day finds me 'neath the trees
absorbing warmth before its lost
and limbering up titanium knees.

For I'm not what I once was.
Time has seen that I am not,
So I sit on a stump to take a pause
and breathe autumn's scent which I'd forgot.

Then turn my face up to the sky
as cool front winds begin to blow.
I watch the clouds as they race by.
They leave like friends I used to know.

My eyes water from sun's glare
so I drop my head down to my chest
letting my chin settle there
while I count the ways that I am blessed.

I'm blessed with our cabin in the trees
I'm blessed with seeing one more fall.
I'm blessed with grandchildren to tease.
I'm blessed with being here at all.

I watch a squirrel climb to its nest
for now the sun is getting low
so ere' it reaches ridge's crest
I arise then turn and go.

 Cage of cards

 Chaotically clustered
cage of
cards covering
all
cynically silent
sides of life
plainly plastered
before my
persistently passing
presence of
the present day.
Thoughtlessly thrashing
out the leisurely
overlapping lanes
of possibilities
prancing through
the pressuring palms
of probability.
With a single stern stomp
taking back the cross
mask of control.
There steadily
stumbled down
the obliquely built
walls of ambiguity
freely falling at
my frivolously
fleeting feet.
Vigorously revealing
the vaguely vapid
valley of victorious
vultures who
persistently preys
upon the weak
minded ones
who decisively numb
themselves within naivety .
But still
I walk forth
ahead through
the foreboding facade
of fear
lying before me.

Echoes

Once there was a man
Who wrote beautiful music
He wrote the music because he was sad
He was sad because he was all alone

But he was noticed for his music
He ended up being loved for it
And in being loved
He lost his sadness
And his music soon after

The stream (all workshops)

This is the stream - you can see all poems on Neopoet, live, as they are created.

fat priests: the moon

little guilts and luscious lies
sweetmeats of imagination:
gifts for globulous priests
fat bellied, heavy men

sin eaters

banquet of imperfections
heralded by faith
chocolate box of judgement.
I watch the moon rise.

doorframe... By Esker/ for Great Poetry workshop.

black room
and beyond white window
the thin shade
blurring the shapes
drifting

overcast
and settling into the low
front moving
slow

dialing up the numbers
with easy fingers
and looking at the
crack in the wall travelling
from the doorframe
to the lamp hanging
down

not expecting
me
not expecting you

ringing
ringing
ringing

Choice

I wear jeans and tees
buzz my own hair
eat over the kitchen sink
...while smoking
(far beyond age appropriate)
but I don' t remember choosing these things

preferring solitude,
(a homebody for sure)
I hardly ever think of sex
sleep whenever I want
hardly ever think of sex
love waking with nothing to do
hardly ever think of sex
would anyone actually choose this

sometimes, I think I'm happy
although, never quite sure.

Dressed

The thrill of the chase
satin and lace

The ecstasy of being caught
wedding dress sought

The miracle of first born
christening gown, already worn

The sadness of divorce
dressed for hearse

The alcoholic

Can you not see them
laughing at you

Not your friends
nor your enemies
They just do not care

Stumble over to them
Hit your head on the floor
keel over

They laugh
You lie their
Unconscious
Bruised forehead

They laugh even more
The story.Good for dinner parties
Social gatherings, pub nights

Given more to drink,
your voice slurring,
you weave over to the pool table
Bumping into it,
Using the cue upside down

legally entitled views

on second thought
legal tender
could have been construed
as legal money

but legally tender
is all about any honey,

anyone can so decide
these metaphorical views
which are impossible to hide".

you have had a say
your way
but folks will see your implications
their own personal way,

so take away or give in
what is this?
but a delight which resides
in the inner hearts recesses
of a poet deep within

DaggerFahl

ere the dream weighing heavy
we drag the stones in candle lit tombs
on wagons like thrones

cathedrals on mutton and mead
and in the morning washed with the
thin light like a supple soup
we bathe in stone cold rivers
the dust like ghosts we shed

laughing or in stillness while the
sheep stir and the sheperds ease
eyes on the gold of a sunrise

the wolves away for starlight ventures
and the masons in their aprons talc
fingered on blueprints to scaffolds
that would make Babel proud

haps I should have learned to swim better
maybe it wasn't so smart to paddle out
in a fifteen foot cyclone surf
on a foam board
Mum and Dad
will be so mad
I wonder if
I'll get in trouble?
They say your life
flashes before
your eyes
when you die
this shouldn't
take long,
I'm only
twelve.

Rain is speaking
beneath the sky
a paper roams
indifferent filling dark
eyes on font

subtle soft like chalk

a dampness clinging
full of illusions

the pains of growth
healed and broken

I remember our river
chilled with the spring
the slush flowing swift
like blossoms of winter

gardens of lush
knowing

STUCK SWITCH

The damned off switch doesn't work
images play on and on
appearing unexpectedly
they flash up at night, noon and dawn

And the volume is full blast
endlessly assaulting my tired ears
interrupted by that ringing sound
so loud it nearly causes tears

Pictures of death I can't turn off
sounds of agony at night
and I just can't find the off switch
somehow that just don't seem right
