THE WRATHFUL SEA

Her salted bludgeoning maw
swallowed vessels and galleys
with its green saline gullet of
ulcers
barnacles, and a throat full of oily
spots of acne sticky limpets

Treasures guarded by a circle
of sharks in an ocean restaurant
pinching crabs,
and swaying seaweed keeping naval
secrets.

A wave of wrathfulness, tossing
clubbing, floating ships, drowning
them into the abyss.
stripping seamen Into
skeletons with silent screams.

Supported by a howling killer
of a storm . Ripping, blowing holes
into arthritis wooden decks into oblivion
into the coldest dark depths.

Grandiose Majestic Mountain

There stood a majestic
Craggy face with razor blade
Edges of a monstrous
time honoured mountain

Turning its rocky nose up
at anything below him, robust
Jagged and risky, high stabbing
armour with White shark tip
Cut throated fins.

Bald rugged with a silent manner
cold stone as white as marshmallow
steep and strong, bold and old
broad frosted shoulders

With powdered freckles and a storm grey
complexion it wore a white necklace
and a frosted crown, made
by heaven.

AUTUMN'S CUSP

Mid October a cool day
with a northern cooling breeze.
All hints of summer gone away.
The few green leaves are just a tease.

Tomorrow will bring the first frost
so this day finds me 'neath the trees
absorbing warmth before its lost
and limbering up titanium knees.

For I'm not what I once was.
Time has seen that I am not,
So I sit on a stump to take a pause
and breathe autumn's scent which I'd forgot.

Then turn my face up to the sky
as cool front winds begin to blow.
I watch the clouds as they race by.
They leave like friends I used to know.

My eyes water from sun's glare
so I drop my head down to my chest
letting my chin settle there
while I count the ways that I am blessed.

I'm blessed with our cabin in the trees
I'm blessed with seeing one more fall.
I'm blessed with grandchildren to tease.
I'm blessed with being here at all.

I watch a squirrel climb to its nest
for now the sun is getting low
so ere' it reaches ridge's crest
I arise then turn and go.

 Cage of cards

 Chaotically clustered
cage of
cards covering
all
cynically silent
sides of life
plainly plastered
before my
persistently passing
presence of
the present day.
Thoughtlessly thrashing
out the leisurely
overlapping lanes
of possibilities
prancing through
the pressuring palms
of probability.
With a single stern stomp
taking back the cross
mask of control.
There steadily
stumbled down
the obliquely built
walls of ambiguity
freely falling at
my frivolously
fleeting feet.
Vigorously revealing
the vaguely vapid
valley of victorious
vultures who
persistently preys
upon the weak
minded ones
who decisively numb
themselves within naivety .
But still
I walk forth
ahead through
the foreboding facade
of fear
lying before me.

Echoes

Once there was a man
Who wrote beautiful music
He wrote the music because he was sad
He was sad because he was all alone

But he was noticed for his music
He ended up being loved for it
And in being loved
He lost his sadness
And his music soon after

Valentine's day 2013

Love is jealous,Love is zealous
Love's possessive,Love's obsessive
Love desires, Love requires
Love requests, and love tests
Love has wants and Love can haunt
Loves no pleasure,Love doesn't treasure
Love's a fuss, Love's just lust
Love's a curse which comes with a purse
Love is a word,so seldom heard
Love makes you low if love doesn't grow
Love's sometime sung. Loves not for one

I Missed the Ferry

My mind lept laughing into the air
The ferryman left without me
The cold closed in around my frame
I shall trying to write again

In my ears Irish songs swell
They make my heart full
Meanings of life simply put
Wait I see a bird on the feed table

Things we would miss, far away
The simple lives that we lead each day
Where torment flows high over my head
I now stoop to hear what the child said

Behind the Tyler-Tickletoes’ big, farm-house,
not far from the old graceful fig tree’s leaves,
amongst the long stems of green, wild-oat grass,
lives Fat-Freddy, the frog, and his best mate, Old-Jeeves.

The sort of green frogs one sees any day,
they’re both of the garden variety,
brought to the back yard by Tiny-Tommy
from the lake near the town, in another story.

Haiku - choking

I'm gasping for air
palpitating hearts rhythm
calm is conceded

Magic

Waves cascade against the shore
relaxation to my very core
always leaves me wanting more
the sea to me, is never a bore

Whispers from sea shells
Wafting by, sea smells
casting a magic spell
my heart and soul swell

Sitting here is just bliss
enjoying sea air's sweet kiss
not a moment I want to miss
Feels like paradise, this

my feet are loved.

firstly
I would like to welcome you
a third Canadian poet
from or of Canada here
one is the greatest Esker

I rarely read epicurial poems
as my appetite is tight
but your maiden one
i had to make an exception

i saw a gal on the beach alongside another
almost in nothing
bikini under sand immersed
instead of in water

your poem flashed by
and made me sigh
I just can't say why
in memory she flew by

WATER

Some days I soak my feet in your shallow cool water
and my feet are loved.

My toes splash in the puddle left by last night’s rain fall,
creating a spot of envy burning on the soft white flesh just above my ankles.
It won't wash away.

The skin that runs the length of ankles to calves,
slightly tanned having been subject to your peace place sun café 7 a.m. good mornings,
is even more desirous of those tiny toes.

It begrudges my feet their puddle love play.

shadowdream

the stillness
no brisk
take

everything at the edge
waiting

exhale bids of steam

a ruin house of knowing
sharpened like the best
ideals
speaks with invisible
spice

The Lesson of the Greedy Double Dater

My friends, this saga slowly unfurls
a love story that went quickly awry,
seems greedy Bob dated a pair of girls
when with one, to the other he’d lie.

The homlier girl’s name was Edith
who, nonetheless Bob was fond of,
but, greedy Bob wanted to live out the “myth”
and with sisters, he was sure to find love !

He began slyly asking about sister Kate
for her beauty was equalled by few,
she was young, and he believed her well worth the wait
she had enough sex appeal for two !

He Changed Me

The man upstairs has changed my life a work that was originally started from within
I really don't think about what my world was like or how things could have been
Jesus has been my major supporter not a BFF he has really been a good friend
If I leave this earth tomorrow there is one thing I know for sure
How great the Lord has been to me my rock, my shelter, my protector
I will have no doubts about this in the end.
