THE WRATHFUL SEA

Her salted bludgeoning maw
swallowed vessels and galleys
with its green saline gullet of
ulcers
barnacles, and a throat full of oily
spots of acne sticky limpets

Treasures guarded by a circle
of sharks in an ocean restaurant
pinching crabs,
and swaying seaweed keeping naval
secrets.

A wave of wrathfulness, tossing
clubbing, floating ships, drowning
them into the abyss.
stripping seamen Into
skeletons with silent screams.

Supported by a howling killer
of a storm . Ripping, blowing holes
into arthritis wooden decks into oblivion
into the coldest dark depths.

Grandiose Majestic Mountain

There stood a majestic
Craggy face with razor blade
Edges of a monstrous
time honoured mountain

Turning its rocky nose up
at anything below him, robust
Jagged and risky, high stabbing
armour with White shark tip
Cut throated fins.

Bald rugged with a silent manner
cold stone as white as marshmallow
steep and strong, bold and old
broad frosted shoulders

With powdered freckles and a storm grey
complexion it wore a white necklace
and a frosted crown, made
by heaven.

AUTUMN'S CUSP

Mid October a cool day
with a northern cooling breeze.
All hints of summer gone away.
The few green leaves are just a tease.

Tomorrow will bring the first frost
so this day finds me 'neath the trees
absorbing warmth before its lost
and limbering up titanium knees.

For I'm not what I once was.
Time has seen that I am not,
So I sit on a stump to take a pause
and breathe autumn's scent which I'd forgot.

Then turn my face up to the sky
as cool front winds begin to blow.
I watch the clouds as they race by.
They leave like friends I used to know.

My eyes water from sun's glare
so I drop my head down to my chest
letting my chin settle there
while I count the ways that I am blessed.

I'm blessed with our cabin in the trees
I'm blessed with seeing one more fall.
I'm blessed with grandchildren to tease.
I'm blessed with being here at all.

I watch a squirrel climb to its nest
for now the sun is getting low
so ere' it reaches ridge's crest
I arise then turn and go.

 Cage of cards

 Chaotically clustered
cage of
cards covering
all
cynically silent
sides of life
plainly plastered
before my
persistently passing
presence of
the present day.
Thoughtlessly thrashing
out the leisurely
overlapping lanes
of possibilities
prancing through
the pressuring palms
of probability.
With a single stern stomp
taking back the cross
mask of control.
There steadily
stumbled down
the obliquely built
walls of ambiguity
freely falling at
my frivolously
fleeting feet.
Vigorously revealing
the vaguely vapid
valley of victorious
vultures who
persistently preys
upon the weak
minded ones
who decisively numb
themselves within naivety .
But still
I walk forth
ahead through
the foreboding facade
of fear
lying before me.

Echoes

Once there was a man
Who wrote beautiful music
He wrote the music because he was sad
He was sad because he was all alone

But he was noticed for his music
He ended up being loved for it
And in being loved
He lost his sadness
And his music soon after

The stream (all workshops)

This is the stream - you can see all poems on Neopoet, live, as they are created.

One Rainy Day

The wind hums a lullaby
In the heart of a forest
Deep asleep.
A brook flows
Like cymbals played in tranquility
Accompanied by the lovely silence
Of reverie.

The trees and the flowers
Sway in the gentle summer gust
The reeds by the river bank
Play their lovely flutes
- Echoing on and on.

The birds on the old branches
Chirp sweetly
Along with the toads
On top of lily pads
Floating on a pond
Deep in slumber.

Beside

To be beside the sea
mind and body in harmony
listening to the sea’s symphony
a water creature is me
feels like heaven ought to be

Why wait ...

I waited for you
all my life

like the darkness
is my day
you are my planet
I'm just a moon

I love you
as certainly
I'll never
love again

These dark things
I shelter in my mind
fearing to reveal
and to lose control

You've asked me why
and repeatedly
how I love you
and when I fell

My only answer ?

I waited for you
all my life

The Life That I Have (just a great Poem)

The Life That I Have

The life that I have
Is all that I have
And the life that I have
Is yours

The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours.

A sleep I shall have
A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause
For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours.

Taking back my power

Today I'm taking back my power
And I want to let you know
I'm no longer yours to control
Its time for you to go

No longer will I think of you
I will not speak your name
You've brought nothing but pain to me
And unimaginable shame

But I realise now that its not me
Who should feel the guilt and blame
Because its you who made the choice
To hurt me like its just a game

The Shadow People

They blend in with the shadows
that appear throughout the day,
their gaze evades judgmental eyes
because it’s just their way;

they can’t help if they’re jaded
they have a “puny” lot in life,
fate’s hurled at them nothing but pain
and misery, and strife.

Dust is their companion
as they try and make ends meet,
stopping just to rest a bit
and ease the blisters on their feet.

They have an appreciation
for the simpler things around,
like shade in the desert sun
or a trinket that they’d found;

roving down the corridors of a hospy i looked around u ok v ok

Are you okay

get well soonest
shall miss your lovely comments
get well soon
now rest

the world shall move on
till you return
I shall keep the windmill alive...
shall ensure that the sun does also rise
to the correct second
shall also direct it to go down under
to enable you to sleep sounder
the guys playing music loud
will be attached to a cloud
and then they will soar away
and clarinets for heavens angels only play

Broken Heart

A heart never broken
pristine and sterile
I pity their perfection
their memories futile

An unbroken heart
has not life experience
has not taken part
never suffered a grievance

A broken heart is a lesson
hard to learn but needed
its a beautiful blessing
hopefully not oft repeated

A broken heart gives us
strength and compassion
empathy a welcome plus
wearing it on my sleeve, fashion

Strumpet Street Folks

Strumpet Town Folks

Strumpet street in a tired carnival town,
all are ready for their time on the lash.
intrepid young man acting the clown,
ladies of the night look out for his cash.

Danger is crackling in a corner street bar,
innocence could very well be a price.
Intoxication comes not only from the jar,
street ladies have pretence to sell nice.

Farewell, Gaston

.

My uncle, Gaston,
mum's older brother,
died whilst I cradled him
in the crook of me arms.

He lay there bliss-filled
Faint lustre of his boyhood charms.

It was a waiting game
and he was hanging on.
He held back the Ripper's blade,
Unmindful that he'd had it made.

I whispered in his ear
About the good times,
our common dreams:
how it was okay to let go;
to forgive & be forgiven.

Then off he floated, by candle's glow;
like the silent flutter of wispy snow.
