ain't no sonnet.....
you are a lovely sonneteer
the only thing about sonnets
I know is
that there are 14 lines,
last two must do a twist,
someone must read at least
lines of only five syllables,
stressed,
somehow that's all I know
about sonnet composing
my maiden one was laughed off
as free verse one
my own sense of creativity,
as on my broken down car’s bonnet
I sit composing a sonnet
hope they will laugh once again
but then this ain't
no sonnet
thanks friend

The first time I walked on stage as an actor
10 years old, playing the king, I tripped over my cape and fell flat on my face.
Everyone laughed.
To this day I can not step on a stage, even to read my poetry, without shaking like a jackhammer.
That was something I never got over. I even did therapy.
But writing poetry is different, my dear Loved, our mistakes are our gains.
I have judged you hard, and others will, but the poet transforms the cape to a jape,
then tries again.
You have noticed my poetic absence for nearly two years? Many considered me a fine poet before that. I'm learning to be grateful for the cape, the tripping over it, the lines missed and the lines gained.
And I think I see you doing it too.
Much love,
cheers,
Jess

we are simply shadows, hallucinations of ourselves at the best
if people laughed at us
take it well,
at least they have an occasion to do so,
else, they would dwell in sentimental ignorance.
take each step with care,
if you must
I read others crap and then add my own to that
so that the garbage bag is full,...
at least some satisfaction
nothing is empty.
I follow your footsteps
my master,
my maker
that you still read me
is in itself an honour
that we all can see.

remember
the jester is traditionally the dispenser of unwelcome wisdom,
but wisdom none the less.
You above all know that I never give flattery and I tell you truly your work is growing in my esteem.
cheers,
Jess

that's exactly
what you now so do
and
for that only
I appreciate you.
have a nice day
I just woke up by the way
its darkness outside
but now not within.
Thanks Jess.

Hi loved
Those sonnets ARE a pain in the butt lol. Not so much maintaining form, but trying to keep a natural sounding flow in them (at least to me). By the way, I'm the only one allowed to say ain't and ya'll here lmao.........stan

you know - practice makes perfect they say....
and you never did work on the second verse of your sonnet - so how will you ever get to write one if you don't try?...

The great Bard is laughing and I hear him,
though we are 60 miles from his home,
you know he died, and is free to roam,
I hope that he will visit you,
to show you a sonnet true.
But you need to think
and see things through.
It is to work you must go
and write a sonnet just so...
