Neopoet Weekly 06/09/24 to 06/15/24 Winner!

This week’s winner is Lavender with the following poem

Winning Poem

Magic

Submitted by Lavender

A falling star settled on my rose,
a diamond dipped in velvet clothes.
I dared not touch the pure gift
sent from heaven, so swift,
but let it rest there
in such sweet air
and comply
to my
wish.

Abandoned

By:  Mary Beth Magee

She bobbed there in the gentle swell,
The little boat I knew so well.
The sail wrapped tight along the boom
Gave me a feeling of dark doom.
I saw no anchor chain hung down
To stop her, lest she run aground.
No one sat in her empty bow.
No hand controlled her keel just now.
A gentle breeze set her to rock.
How did she get loose from the dock?
As the breeze caused her to turn,
I spotted paint along her stern.
Rough letters where my name had been -
The words now looked like "Mortal Sin."
What had he done in dark of night?
Was he convicted by dawn's light?
Then in the reeds beside the dock…
What I saw gave me quite a shock.
A body, face down, on the lake,
Could it be him, for heaven's sake?
Please, no, I prayed and backed away.
What pushed him so, I cannot say.
I didn't dream that he would dare.
I only know I lost him there.

Summer Image Prompt Challenge-Sailing

By: Hon

In the sailing wind blow
pacing along with the flow
feeling at ease and contented
under the vast blue sky
the spray of the fresh air
embarking on a new journey
traveling miles far apart
carrying with a curious mind
awaiting for a new opportunity
embracing with a sense of hope
bringing with an emotional ride
through many different stages
at the endless spending time
finding own destination
with each tale of the story
comes with lessons
instilled with the thought
life is a learning experience
that takes where it goes
a place that holds special
to the heart that embraces
like home

Neopoet Weelky 06/02/24 to 06/08/24 Winner!

This week’s contest winner is hippiemoon with following poem:

Archeology

By: hippiemoon

Years from now,
We will be dead and buried.
Your laugh nothing more than
A whisper in the wind,
A breeze carrying off dandelion wishes.

Our headstones will rest together,
Aging together, as we did in life.
Tears from our loved ones will mix with rain
And our memory will fade with the engravings.

And years from now,
We’re forgotten by everyone but the Earth.
They will dig our bodies up
And find our bones entwined in each other’s arms.

Something New

Rain rushes from the skies
Mixing with a single tear
The wind cuts through
Like every doubt, every fear

Lightning shatters my peace
Like the pieces of my mind
A distant thunderclap mocks
Of the girl I was and left behind

A tornado rages in my head
Demolishing my peace and joy
I plaster on a smile for you,
But it's just a tactic I employ

The fear paralyzes my heart
Yet I'm so tired of being afraid
It is time to get up and fight
Before my resolve starts to fade

My fingers curl around my sword
I lift it high, I've got my armor on
I bring it down with all my strength
Until the shattered pieces are gone

There is no fixing the girl I was
No use in buying time with glue
The only solution is to shatter her
And forge with fire Something New

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN*

Class shootings, drive-by's, Columbines and such,
Not just by Homo Africanus, delinquents,
Dispossed and out of touch.
The youths we loved
The kids in cots
The babes we reared from scratch
How come there's killings now and
no love lost
On those we breed to snatch?

If my mind is ever present

and my solitude's a friend,

dark ideas lead to actions

darker actions, towards a trend;

~

a stoic calm is my exterior

never, ever break a sweat,

in the hollow of my inner being

I've this appetite to whet.

~

Within the chasm where my soul goes

a dank pulsating yearns to start,

tuning out the distant conscience

because I haven't any heart;

~

half the time I am the predator

in the darkness after day,

daylight time I am more subtle

Maker O Mine!

People are ugly,
Glad you changed yours
it gave me sheer spiny gripes
I felt the electricity blow me up

my next poem will be worse,
verse for verse
now you don
an MA in English hat

my maker too was an Aussie
but unlike you
he picked me up across the Internet
when I was in USA
and now I salute him
as much as I do you..

S U P P L E M E N T

hoarse surround
glisten as you swallow
your diver dive
sliding through the horror

fracture me
curled you asked
basking in watery
light
and you wept

I could hear the traffic
jangled and bold
flashs like broken bone
this pain that eats me

Devoured
and a kiss
tingle dance

you sigh
the black depth
pupil wide

across the great divide
you slip into
Lah lah Land

barefoot and naked
and the snows fall
like broken wishs
from a ravaged heaven

Çaço, Man of the Morning Star, Canto 25

Canto Twenty Five ~ It is a time beyond the recall of common men.
The mighty race of men who call themselves Clovis have committed a crime of near unfathomable consequence. In a region of their land unperceived by those lesser men they have enslaved for thousands of years, the Clovis stand convicted by the Angel Host that made them.
Their crime was of such a cataclysmic nature that the parameters of punishment have been determined by the Creator Himself.
No longer willing to acknowledge a king, as equals they wait the month’s long debate of The Host.

Me Refashioned

There you are
A moment ago you wasn’t there.
Then as if out of nowhere you came
Making this grand entrance into my life.
Like an imp, a gnome
Like little Miss nobody who never was
But always were.
From the very first time we got connected
you have hunted me
chased me as if I was a renegade
like a maroon I dwelt in the inner most part of the forest
even with look-outs barriers and fortifications
you raced to my heart…to my core
these defences no match for your determination
for there you had to be….

ONE MORE TIME :portuguese and English UPDATED

PALAVRAS DE AMOR
Fala-me palavras
De amor
Só uma vez mais.
Nâo deixa morrer
Em meu coração
A saudade

Fala-me palavras
De “sempre”.
Não deixa cair
Meu coração
Em obscuridade

Só uma vez mais,
Meu amor,
Não me deixa esquecer
Jamais…

ENGLISH:

WORDS OF LOVE
Speak words of love
To me
Only one more time
Don’t let my longing
Die in my heart

Speak words of “forever”
Don’t let my heart fall
Into the dark

Poet of Today

Tomorrows Poet Today
''I greatly love the way you express yourself
and
the varied works you create
a joy to read poetry
for what it is.................
a great poet says...

Then I Shall Live... Again

When the chosen time has come
Bright light shall take
The crown from darkness
Then I shall live... Again

I Stand

I stand at the commencement of an unlit tunnel

You show the light
and
only then my blinding eyes can see
a person like you
in the far distance .
amazing how you unveil me
with the gentility of a soul
we two depict
as a feeling that one may beget
of being whole

no one will credit me
and
as you say you,
for our visionary poetry
and
Nobels are never given posthumously
so we both stand
at the two ends of the darkened tunnel,
you shine your torch at me
as I reflect
