THE WRATHFUL SEA

Her salted bludgeoning maw
swallowed vessels and galleys
with its green saline gullet of
ulcers
barnacles, and a throat full of oily
spots of acne sticky limpets

Treasures guarded by a circle
of sharks in an ocean restaurant
pinching crabs,
and swaying seaweed keeping naval
secrets.

A wave of wrathfulness, tossing
clubbing, floating ships, drowning
them into the abyss.
stripping seamen Into
skeletons with silent screams.

Supported by a howling killer
of a storm . Ripping, blowing holes
into arthritis wooden decks into oblivion
into the coldest dark depths.

Grandiose Majestic Mountain

There stood a majestic
Craggy face with razor blade
Edges of a monstrous
time honoured mountain

Turning its rocky nose up
at anything below him, robust
Jagged and risky, high stabbing
armour with White shark tip
Cut throated fins.

Bald rugged with a silent manner
cold stone as white as marshmallow
steep and strong, bold and old
broad frosted shoulders

With powdered freckles and a storm grey
complexion it wore a white necklace
and a frosted crown, made
by heaven.

AUTUMN'S CUSP

Mid October a cool day
with a northern cooling breeze.
All hints of summer gone away.
The few green leaves are just a tease.

Tomorrow will bring the first frost
so this day finds me 'neath the trees
absorbing warmth before its lost
and limbering up titanium knees.

For I'm not what I once was.
Time has seen that I am not,
So I sit on a stump to take a pause
and breathe autumn's scent which I'd forgot.

Then turn my face up to the sky
as cool front winds begin to blow.
I watch the clouds as they race by.
They leave like friends I used to know.

My eyes water from sun's glare
so I drop my head down to my chest
letting my chin settle there
while I count the ways that I am blessed.

I'm blessed with our cabin in the trees
I'm blessed with seeing one more fall.
I'm blessed with grandchildren to tease.
I'm blessed with being here at all.

I watch a squirrel climb to its nest
for now the sun is getting low
so ere' it reaches ridge's crest
I arise then turn and go.

 Cage of cards

 Chaotically clustered
cage of
cards covering
all
cynically silent
sides of life
plainly plastered
before my
persistently passing
presence of
the present day.
Thoughtlessly thrashing
out the leisurely
overlapping lanes
of possibilities
prancing through
the pressuring palms
of probability.
With a single stern stomp
taking back the cross
mask of control.
There steadily
stumbled down
the obliquely built
walls of ambiguity
freely falling at
my frivolously
fleeting feet.
Vigorously revealing
the vaguely vapid
valley of victorious
vultures who
persistently preys
upon the weak
minded ones
who decisively numb
themselves within naivety .
But still
I walk forth
ahead through
the foreboding facade
of fear
lying before me.

Echoes

Once there was a man
Who wrote beautiful music
He wrote the music because he was sad
He was sad because he was all alone

But he was noticed for his music
He ended up being loved for it
And in being loved
He lost his sadness
And his music soon after

Point Omega

Point Omega
(to Don Delillo)

The mind sees through scaley eyes
gelatinous atoms inside are oozing
flinging electrons into others, lazily
rapid fireflies colliding.....sparks

consciousness is weary, grown sphinx-like, tired
The eternal experiment has failed again
it's designs fall to the will
of the pack
gold verticle eyes point the gene of destruction

You Should Sleep. I Should Do A Lot of Things.

There are times that I am not supposed to be here.

I should be sitting on your lap
Telling you about the dream I had in gym class
Or maybe just kissing you

I should be tangled in your blankets
Swimming around pillows
Trying to find you

I should be feeling something more
Than the hollow ring of the bell in me
That resembles my voice

I should be hearing your body sing
Breath passing over me
Pull in, push out

S t a r k n e o u r o s i s . . .

coma penchant

threaded fears invaded

the oil crisp slide

a dream touch away

lanolin burn creme

pervaded

soft as that Autumn blush

cropped and tender brush

while a moist wind of river

groped the poplar rush

high arcade crystal

cd spinner

come in from the hate

of that dark breath

full of night

you smell of

stars

and the wounds of

ache

overflow their grave

like a sure Lost Love

the nails across my

throat and heart

ALIVE

Leaves stampede across the ground
fleeing from the winter cold
they scurry with a rustling sound
as last days of the year unfold

They'll each end their sprint somewhere
some might fetch up on a log
others lift into chill air
perhaps they'll land in a deep bog

This winter wind cuts to the bone
turning sedge fields into seas
little wonder I'm alone
few would brave such cold brisk breeze

Gossip

Talking behind their back
bitterness their only track
of stories they have no lack
truth or fiction they don't care
challenge them if you dare
seeping poison from their pores
now they'll only hear my snores
as my silent derision roars
pity them their shallow lives
placing in backs their knives

VISIONS OF FREEDOM

I listened and heard
in the gurgle
of streaming waters
the timeless tunes
of freedom

I watched and saw
in the flapping wings
of the dove
the boundless joy
of freedom

I stopped and saw
in the face of
the sun flower
beauty of the sun
of freedom

I came and saw
in the face of
a man barred behind bars
the throes of a life
devoid of freedom

Doors

Doors close to us at every turn,
And others open so we learn.
Not a simultaneous event.
A good portion of our time thus spent,
In life's hallways near and far,
Looking for the door ajar.

WHAT YOU HAVE GIVEN ME

I -
Insouciant
ingracious
indifferently
benign

You -
courageous,
flagrantly outspoken -
have opened
my mind

Nestling joy
suckles at this breast
Awakened longing
from what was
an insensate mess

A ratchet to my desires
has been wrenched at the wheel
I am alive again
I breath
I feel

Mother

This poem is by MIKE CARTER, he couldn't send it so I am doing it for you, hope I'm forgiven. Ann.

meditate or medicate

meditation then medication

what we miss out in life
for sound health is
more of meditation

certainly more than medication

the former helps us stabilize better
than the latter

Yet the docs do never prescribe
what this self made does
yeah this scribe...

First and foremost
meditation be your whole souls host
