Let's have an Esker appreciation week.
It breaks my heart that one of the finest poets I have ever read occupies most of our 'Undiscovered work' list. His output is prolific, sure, yet the level of quality remains astonishingly high. If for one week we all read an Esker a day (keeps the shrinks at bay) and made a comment, I think it would do us all a power of good.
Esker has been on Neopoet for over ten years and his fecund contributions have given a lot to a lot of poets. Let's give some back.

I am so glad Esker is here
I am so glad Esker is here
inspiring wordplay
with images;
jazzy
hip
robust
alive
fluid
unique
intriguing
and sometimes (often) baffling
but his prowess with words can never,(by any sane person) be questioned
I comment whenever I can get even a tenuous foothold, not wanting to look like a jerk or an idiot when I can't.
...still I read, and wonder!...how does he do it?

I agree
Esker is a true wordsmith - his poems are incredibly imaginative, genuine, abstract, colourful, passionate and highly descriptive - ( jealous :) ) I can't say I always understand them but it doesn't matter - I get the feel of them the enjoy the rollercoaster flavours and sentiments that so easily percolate the readers mind.
Love Eskers work :)

So very true...
that he is one of the most [maybe the most] prolific poets of Neo. I always miss him when he takes a little hiatus. I usually get something from all of his works even if it isn't what he intended. He just has the knack of writing in such a manner that encourages people to do just that; to take away something from it, no matter the subject. Even his comments to other poets, read like something he wrote as a poem. I used to critique him when I first came here, but soon gave up on that because, he never edits, just writes something to acknowledge your crit as if it were another poem that he were writing. Amazing wordsmith and ability to put you in a scene with his descriptions. He WILL be famous some day and we will have the marvelous opportunity to say that we knew him when! I second the motion that we have an "Esker Week". ~ Gee.
.
There is value to commenting and critique, tell us how you feel about our work.
This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

Not that I know
a lot of poets who write in his style but if a person wants to read a poem that requires they really think about it none better than esker in my opinion.
And this bring to mind a short coming we all have. I know I have a tendency to read his stuff (and others as well) then not even leave a hello to let him know I came by...BAD STAN!, BAD STAN!......scribbler

I posted this 4 months ago
Now I can't help feeling somehow guilty.
Was I too late?
Was it premonition?
I have never cried so much for someone I never met.

Dear Jess
Tears from us flow as we read the news.
Esker left us on June 24th and only now we find out.
I have been waiting for a write from him for a while, so that I could send the things I have here for him and Lori.
I shall send to Lori as soon as Xmas has gone, and hope that she will forgive our lack of information.
Your Post was a month out, but we just didn't know.
We must make a place, for all those that walked with us here, that have journeyed on.
Also each of us should leave instructions to let our friends know, it is crazy that we only find out 6 months later.
I hope that Neopoet will start a place here for our poets where they can be remembered.
Take care young Jess,
Yours as always Ian..
.
Give critique to help keep Neopoet great.
Unconditional love to you all.

He has been gone 6 months?
And this is the first we have heard about it? Looking back, he popped into my head a few months back and I went to find him on FB only to see that he was no longer on my friends list. I searched FB for him and his page was nowhere to be found. I thought perhaps he got tired of social media for a while and took a break. If we had only known....
Keep Writing,
Carrie

I can see that his last poem was posted in June,
But I swear I had interacted with him more recently than that! I just can't find where! I could be wrong though, mind could just be playing tricks on me. It's hard to tell because the track feature only goes so far.

When dark clouds come by they convey and we forecast a heavy rai
When dark clouds come by
they convey a
nd we forecast
a heavy rain
and
may be snow
no one ever knows
the clouds may pass by also
The great poet of Neo
Esker
leaves us
most of us in sorrow
may the clouds look after him
where ever from here he does go
we will only remember
his words of wisdom
let's over come all sorrow
let all know he will live in times
we call tomorrow
