An Aimless Journey of Two Souls

Two heavenly roads diverged into this callous world,
I took the one less travelled by;
And my soul-mate took the other,
Where her car got stuck in huge traffic jam.

I have been looking for her for years,
And I know, for sure,
Now she is looking for me too,
But in opposite directions.

Let St. Valentine light her tank of love,
Let her come to the crossroads where I still misfire.

(Dhaka, 11 February 2014)

In Awe of Night

A verdant night
consumes my eyes,
beyond is a light
in blackened skies

portals opened
the unseen seen,
shooting comets
develop a dream

A violin cries
of the deepest dark,
winging my heart
sound found its mark

now in the darkness
my apron of sorrow,
is thrown on the ground
draped into tomorrow

I cant my face
up to the moon,
filling my heart
it vibrates to croon

trees of the shade
move without form,
grass is curling
this isn’t the norm

THE CHASE

I first heard the hunter's horn
on the day my father died.
I found mortality that morn
and saw the fate from which all hide.

Since then the hounds are often heard
each time another loved one leaves.
By now you'd think they'd be inured
to my scent wafting on the breeze.

And now approaching three score years
the crash of brush and running feet
are heard as hounds and hunter nears
'fore long the hunt will be complete.

A World In Trouble

Pollutions,
corruptions
racism,
degradation.
The lists of misdeeds
is truly long indeed

The world is screaming,
nature's beauty is dying
her soul is suffocating
her body is bleeding

We keep on ravaging
consuming, raping
Blind to her pain,
our lust is insane

When will we realize
what we've done to her,
we do to ourselves
to our own future?!

We can pray,
hope and sing
but nothing is changing
when actions are missing.......

Heart Starter

I admired him from afar,
watching
through a window
of time

our first contact
bled with the intenseness
of a crash,
admiration
was thrown and seeds
of contempt grew

Days went by
side looks stared
into the target,
but disdain and ire
waned to nothing
but sparks of ego

the second introduction,
it bound by the rules
of Utopian society,
a new conversation
of light and song
of love gone wrong

Started.

The Trial

Lawyers as fierce as tigers
locked in a battle of wits
Voices raised in anger
fists clenched, teeth grits

I object!
Overruled!
The tension filled the air
The judge warns with a glare

Accusations, condemnations,
the war of words debates
the claim of innocence.
Let the evidence be displayed!

The panel of jury listens
The judge sits in silence
The media witnesses
before drawing to conclusion

Someone's heart will bleed
for the hope of salvation

moments to remember

I refused to spend
our last minute in grief, so
(to remove this other visage
threatening a takeover)
I transposed over it

your face
with that gorgeous smile,
holding in contemplation,
a curious child, me.

then control was lost,
your eyes
swollen in sadness
with an agony
we carried together,
unmoving they
consumed me

and now,
my face burns,
with a heart
arched in sorrow,
in the knowing yours
is now reposed
in heaven

Still Trying To Get Off This Mud-ball

The aliens won't ever come for me
when I'm lying in my bed at night.
Awakening, I'll never see
odd grey heads looming in my sight.

I won't ever feel the curdling shock
of strange grey creatures lifting me,
or the fearful sudden knock
of paralysis hit my sweating body.

They'll never take me to their ship
to do their weird examinations,
or tag me with a micro chip
to track my subsequent locations.

In a Field, One Lost Day, With Birds

I find few things more annoying
than the overblown tendency
of poets who believe they are
dispensing great, subtle, wisdom
when they are simply muttering
sad words they feel are important
while the rest of us recognise
these are just inconsequential
half formed thoughts completely without
merit or radiant ideas.
It is like a gathering of
crows, each one shouting at the top
of their lungs that they are pretty.
Not me, of course, I am special.

New Woods

I will take you,
where you should be.
Enclosed and safe,
but also free.

Where as a youth,
I spent many an hour.
The songs of the birds,
the show of flowers.

Turn to the right,
there see the path.
Brush aside the sight,
of those blue skies.

Walk within my trees,
they hold no airs
Feel them close,
around your cares.

Leaving your thoughts,
so far behind.
Ahead is the glade,
I know locked in time.
