Mum... You and I

By: Rula

Together we witnessed time ebbs and tides:

we went through ups, we went through downs,

yet luckily we got each other's sides,

you and I, you and I.

Together, unwillingly, we grew old,

with devestating wrinkles, and white hair.

We both raised families, yet we're still bold

You and I, you and I.

Together we laughed, together we cried:

I uplifted your spirits, you got my tears wiped,

we stayed together, side by side,

You and, I you and I.

Together we lived for worse and better,

until Alzheimer's stole you, my bank of love,

although you promised to stay forever

You and I, you and I.

My Gold

By Mr joghe

In whom I spent my old days and nights,

Who rocked me in my cradle;

And fed my pretty mouth with a spoon,

Did weep while I should weep.

How much will I pay

For the pain you’ve taken for me?

Who worked that jumper to keep me warm;

Treated me with diffidence and respect,

Her healthy arms always be my stay,

And always admired my prudent face that filled with laughter.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

Who tired me with apology for being tiresome,

And asked twenty questions and never waited for an answer.

My timidity struck her at the first sight;

When she taught me to expect something extraordinary.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I find such a pleasure

In obeying her commands,

That I take care to observe;

Shall soon come to bless me.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I vow, I thought so;

Never, as among queens and princesses

In her age; to be explicit,

I’ve kept very little company

In pretty smooth dialogues with her.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

notional time

notional time

the Brain Child of Time,
everything is relative,
the number of full moons
one does transit,
through a life's sojourn,
the number of sun rises
at the equator
since 7000 years ago slated,
all give relative notions,
to the fourth dimension
we all and you too do,
call it Time.

Haiku (Japanese Poetry Workshop)

Split water and aire.
Leap the Great Divide in fear.
Thus Koi and fools die.

For A Friend Like You

When you are feeling blue

She will stand by you

She will pull you through

that's what my friend will do
<!--break-->
When you are feeling down

When you are out

She will lift you off the ground,

replace your crown

Clear all your doubt
<!--break-->
This for a Friend like you

This is what a friend will do

For a friend like you
<!--break-->
I will break my heart in two

If only so that you can have one too

I will put my breath on pause

At the Sunset (internal rhyme)(Rhyme Crimes WS)

I always wanted to creep 'n
sleep in your heart-ocean
So deep shall leap my heart
If ever you accept the notion.

Or should I be a commotion,
an abrupt motion in your sea?
Know, I shall always be a wave, brave
to save a love, if stolen from me.

Workshop:

walking alone

The sun was setting
on a perfect day,
the last light fading
as the insects played,

The swans were looking
for their nesting lair,
the path was winding
me back home,

a flying fox was swooping
way down low,
the moon reflecting
made the water glow,

tear were starting
much to my surprise,
as I stopped
to dry my eyes.

I had to think
Just what was wrong with me,
Had I finally
fell out my tree,

Neverwas and Nevermore

Neverwas and nevermore
two places I have been,
the former taught me how to dream
where I'lll never go again.

Journey begins at twilight
through a time tunnel, secure
be careful, avoid the shadows
they cause aches one can't endure.

Neverwas and nevermore
two places I have been,
the latter highlights memories
I make with all my friends.

Out of time's windy tunnel
you'll spy a meadowy-like haze,
that separates the field of dreams
from the light and shadow maze.

1

it could melt into madness

you saw a death on TV, did you see a murder?
complicit, explicit, dig it.....
each book you read leaves a residue
each picture too
there where inside resides a you
the winners write the books
the truth they bring they add to an array
the one accepted for today AS history
the feral truth is mystery

2

YOU MAY NEVER KNOW

When you see terrible things take place
Like the TV screen, they become
Mere pictures, if they matter not
Dreams and real life mixed to confuse
We wonder with apprehension
Men blow their fellows up with bomb
Not because they did any wrong
You may never know what went wrong
When a goat is chased to the wall
It turned around for a face off
Daring whoever is on its way
Pressing pains eroded patience
Mind dropped down to insanity
Unbelievable manifest

D E L E R I U M

Pathogen deliver
the shores of cryptic hurt are open
this havoc wave is shinning
bright as a button

caustic dreamer waken me
with deliriums boot
tell me Im next upon the wall
the wretched nest to shoot

courage kiss you lent me your
letters from burlap and hemp
the steamers bound
the cargo heaped

color on your cheeks
and now I can feel the
turning of the worm beneath
the fire of the ravaged sky
this fever swarm behind
my eyes

and

the terror of this blue
clear sky

Final Roll Call

We stand in rows, all at attention
Our names called one by one
His name called, but no one answers,
They call twice more then none.

A crashing volley rends the air,
As the guns in sequence shoot
One final, thunderous roar,
This jolting last salute.

Gleaming rifles, polished brass
Dressed in their very best
With smart precision they pay their homage
As we mark this Soldier’s rest.

The rifles silent, two by two
We march to the tiny altar
Snap to attention, long salute
It’s then I start to falter.
