I am a young poet who mainly writes for pleasure. I always aim to improve my poetry and have been able to improve significantly just writing on my own. I now hope to improve my skills using the critiques or my peers and hopefully help someone else grow as well.
The first time I started having an interest in poetry was in the 4th grade memorizing Edgar A. Poe's "Eldorado" to recite for an audition, afterward I started writing poetry off and on up to the present of my early 20s. I am in college presently, but my major has absolutely no affiliation with poetry. My goal whenever I write a poem is to have a finished project that I want to memorize myself .
I would love the most technical critiques I can be given. Chances are anything I post outside of a workshop will be something I intend to spend hours or days critiquing and improving until I get something I truly want to remember, so I promise your inputs will be put to good use! I am sure I can decifer any technical literary terminology with the help of the internet! There is definitely a limit to my writing presently because I have been writing for myself thus far, but I finally have the confidence to write more geared toward an audience to create something others can hopefully get enjoyment from as well.
