Mum... You and I

By: Rula

Together we witnessed time ebbs and tides:

we went through ups, we went through downs,

yet luckily we got each other's sides,

you and I, you and I.

Together, unwillingly, we grew old,

with devestating wrinkles, and white hair.

We both raised families, yet we're still bold

You and I, you and I.

Together we laughed, together we cried:

I uplifted your spirits, you got my tears wiped,

we stayed together, side by side,

You and, I you and I.

Together we lived for worse and better,

until Alzheimer's stole you, my bank of love,

although you promised to stay forever

You and I, you and I.

My Gold

By Mr joghe

In whom I spent my old days and nights,

Who rocked me in my cradle;

And fed my pretty mouth with a spoon,

Did weep while I should weep.

How much will I pay

For the pain you’ve taken for me?

Who worked that jumper to keep me warm;

Treated me with diffidence and respect,

Her healthy arms always be my stay,

And always admired my prudent face that filled with laughter.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

Who tired me with apology for being tiresome,

And asked twenty questions and never waited for an answer.

My timidity struck her at the first sight;

When she taught me to expect something extraordinary.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I find such a pleasure

In obeying her commands,

That I take care to observe;

Shall soon come to bless me.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I vow, I thought so;

Never, as among queens and princesses

In her age; to be explicit,

I’ve kept very little company

In pretty smooth dialogues with her.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

How lovely She Awaits - 3 Haiku suite

.
'sweet dreams', she purrs
I roll over and tremble
thoughts of losing her

.
even in unveiled sadness
her beauty incites tears
I cry twice

.
bearing now this
loneliness 10,000 days
an old man in love

what where

what where

hour to hour
day to day
on and on
we go
to where sometimes
where
isn’t where it
should be

not really lost
just haven’t found
what where is.

The Invention

two different forces collided and made an invention,
either a gift of perfection or the fruit of failure
and seen as ending with a fatal obsession,
an early corrosion or a late destruction.

the sun gives its fresh light to make it sweet,
and sometimes thunder come to let it use its wit,
and when the weather change the course of the wind,
there come falling is the rain - the right time to weep.

“Lure of Lorelei”

Silky auburn hair floats like a wave
swirling round her body
in depths of dark waters.
Tendrils curling over soft belly and breasts
a seductive invitation to all who see her vision.

Green eyes capture moonbeams
piercing the dimness
with a haunting luminescent shimmer.
She beckons with the slightest of gestures,
curiosity compels them to seek more...

Her voice like that of a fallen angel,
spellbound by her presence and song
they dive deeply into a blinded kind of love.

By You And Me

I AM CRYING
TEARS ARE RUNNING DOWN MY FACE
BUT I AM NOT SAD
I AM HAPPY
SO HAPPY BECAUSE YOU LOVE ME

YOU ARE GENTLE TO ME
IN A WAY THAT I HAVE NEVER KNOWN
WHILE THE WHOLE WORLD IS SCREAMING
LISTEN TO ME
YOU WHISPER I’M LISTENING

YOU SAY CLOSE YOUR EYES
TAKE MY HAND
AND I GO TO PLACES
THAT ONLY EXIST IN DREAMS

WITH A SIMPLE TOUCH OF YOUR LIPS
I FEEL THE PASSION OF YOUR SOUL
MAKING LOVE TO MINE

WE ARE DANCERS IN A WORLD
THAT CAN ONLY BE SEEN
BY YOU AND ME

Win Or Lose,You Choose

NOBEL PRIZE WINNERS

One such winner
Had your kind
Of an idea
When he felt deprived

So he decided to work hard
And
Make him rich
And
Finally landed with a Nobel Prize
And
All the accompanied perks

Miracles

Ugly little caterpillar,
Crawling in my hand,
Do not be sad, my tiny friend,
One day you will be grand.

You will cover yourself with silk,
Then sleep the winter long,
You will awaken with a burst,
At the mockingbirds first song.

For when the sun melts the snow,
In her throne up in the sky,
You will be born again,
My darling you will fly!

Bright colors, your wings will have,
How pretty you will be!
Just hold tight my little friend,
Soon you will be free.

necrosis

necrosis

seeking my own council
watching clock that only tics for me

writing the dirge to be sung by a silent voice
on my passing

lest I forget
I am not this flesh, these words, or the vow of chastity
I have broken again and again

freelance pedestal of light
illuminates a lost cause

while
perfection glances at its own
faults

counting them on fingers and toes
of amputated limbs
still warm
as necrosis sets in.

COLD COMFORT

The wind is gusty, rain is cold
and falling down in sheets.
Staying home bound's getting old
( I tire of eating snacks and sweets. )

I usually love the leafless trees
but not on days so wet and dreary,
even the wildlife all agrees
of clouds and cold they're also weary.

But it's warm and dry inside.
I think I'll light a cheery fire
to chase the chill from my child bride.
perhaps to kindle new desire ?

Don't Call Her Grace

Was it a push or a fall?
You denied any violence ever happened at all.
I watched you slowly crawling up the stairs
then waited as you lie there
too afraid and stunned for my teardrops to fall
I listened to him rage and kept my back against the wall.

Most nights I lay there in the dark
hearing every cry you would make
I felt your fear and closed my eyes
torn between relief and guilt
hoping to shut out your pleas for mercy’s sake
for that night I was spared.
