Mum... You and I

By: Rula

Together we witnessed time ebbs and tides:

we went through ups, we went through downs,

yet luckily we got each other's sides,

you and I, you and I.

Together, unwillingly, we grew old,

with devestating wrinkles, and white hair.

We both raised families, yet we're still bold

You and I, you and I.

Together we laughed, together we cried:

I uplifted your spirits, you got my tears wiped,

we stayed together, side by side,

You and, I you and I.

Together we lived for worse and better,

until Alzheimer's stole you, my bank of love,

although you promised to stay forever

You and I, you and I.

My Gold

By Mr joghe

In whom I spent my old days and nights,

Who rocked me in my cradle;

And fed my pretty mouth with a spoon,

Did weep while I should weep.

How much will I pay

For the pain you’ve taken for me?

Who worked that jumper to keep me warm;

Treated me with diffidence and respect,

Her healthy arms always be my stay,

And always admired my prudent face that filled with laughter.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

Who tired me with apology for being tiresome,

And asked twenty questions and never waited for an answer.

My timidity struck her at the first sight;

When she taught me to expect something extraordinary.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I find such a pleasure

In obeying her commands,

That I take care to observe;

Shall soon come to bless me.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I vow, I thought so;

Never, as among queens and princesses

In her age; to be explicit,

I’ve kept very little company

In pretty smooth dialogues with her.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

klaxon's holler

terrible wish that all will be fine
screaming in a foggy night
without a sound heard
by any ear
but the one in your head

a kind of madness
that sound begets
hardly delicate --
klaxon's shriek of awareness
sounding doom on one note only

sounded first on first day
plays
long through years
'til last day
in human ears

loudest at the end --
then silent
over -- it's over
silence gathers
gladly

Fertility

Hectic search in the mind's forest,
Dicker hearts, yea, heart for heart.
Two or three immutable minds appeared,
Smiles in cheek but gloom in heart,
The reluctant hearts repel, Oh, repel!
A taboo to the dense forest, yet he moved
He saw wonderful beasts, terrible and good,
Now he lost his way, he wanders in the dense wood,
He began to write poems flowing from the heart,
Then he was hungry to drink the intoxicants,
The juice of some drug-plants inspired him,
Gulped a mouthful of fantastic dreams,

Valleys of Lows

valleys of lows
mountains of highs
too many hellos
too many good byes

I didn't know
it could hurt so much
loosing someone
who's grown cold to my touch
I didn't know I could be so wrong
about something so right
I let go, when I should of held tight
,
our troubles we didn't bother to face
now has led to words we can't erase
we let our anger and hurt smolder
as our hearts grew lonelier colder

coded message

under the layers
of simple text
are these
coded meanings

and they are
difficult to
decypher without
knowing the writer
or something about
their motives

It's not at all
easy to find a
place to start
or a point of reference

It's all in there
you just have to search

reading is the only option
begin at the
first sentence

it helps if it's
interesting

Gangland

Gangland

Sharpened knives and pieces of wood
Weapons ready for the gangland fight
Fractured bones and open wounds
The war has begun with no end in sight

Baseball bats and pieces of brick
Weapons ready for the warfare fight
Busted faces and shattered skulls
The war is full of malice and spite

This is gangland warfare
A rampage through Hell
This is the badland nightmare
Where all the tainted dwell

Oh! Dear Tanya!

Oh! Dear Tanya!

Tanya you do allure
I shall return
Surely for some more
What?
Clues of course

Where in this ocean of time
Can a soul searcher find?
A friend of thy kind,
In the vastness of the wilderness
They say it’s like eternity
I call it the trinity
Of
Life, body and soul,
Where we all strive
To become one whole

a few moments of time

everything comes down
to a few moments
of time
in life

PREY

The hunter is so very stealthy
( to hunt a grizzly, he must be wealthy )
in the thick Alaskan brush
hoping for an adrenal rush

Quarry was first spotted yesterday
on river's shore a mile away
gorging on the spawned-out fish
a glutton for this yearly dish

Laying out a careful stalk
on a topo map with thin white chalk
he studies the big bear all day
imagines taking this great prey

VISIONS (A Journey in Three Acts)

VISIONS
(A Journey in Three Acts)

Act-1: The Leaving

To the land of my fathers I now must return:
You know, it’s not that I care to roam.
Leaving you here, by your wheel and your urn-
Leaving love, leaving life, leaving home…
Yet, as evening must follow the morn,
All those visions, once bright, are now gone;
And the dim light of dusk is now turning to dark,
Yet I know that I must carry on-
I must carry on…

Act-2: The Realisation

The Sunset

sunset came now i see myself
sitting on the grasslands facing the river,
i passed through years and made it here
no challenges left - i miss my Mother.

i started my life with nothing but dust,
and have reached my dreams beyond heaven,
the world showered the gifts i now own
i looked back my life and saw... Happiness.
