The World Outside My Shoes

There is room filled with dead bodies,
poetic pieces-parts, strewn about
like
insect wars, black and red ants.
I never know which side wins,
do you?

But before I get sidetracked,
unrepentant,
disambiguated
and someone ruffles my
feathers
and I must
digress
once again,
angels wage war too, I have heard.
And the war was over God I am
told....never did get the part about
Lucifer. the light bearer...I mean
if God created him, would he not
be just like him? And wouldn't it be
a fault of God's to throw him out of
heaven because he's exactly as he
was created?

So either God is at fault, or no one is
to blame. And we all get our stories
wrong, in one way or another because
we listen to thrice-told tales which makes the
least sense and never question the
storytellers and how they heard what
God had to say.

I bring a candle to all vigils. Another candle
lights mine. Sometimes it's yours.

(Please note no angels, insects, gods, devils or humans were harmed in the making of this poem!)

Questions arise is God to blame for our weaknesses? Is original sin little more than a practical joke? Some Sufis say that Lucifer is the greatest source of true love in the universe because his is a love that will never be rewarded by its like. You present as many questions as answers but I suppose that is the nature of a poem like this. I like what you have but can't help but think somethings missing. Not in the substance of the piece, for the nature of such a thing is that it is nebulous. With religion its so vague and nobody really knows what its all about thats why it appeals to so many people. About the style of the poem excellent but needs tweaking. In many cases its a return to form for you but I feel it seems to stop and start a little for my liking. You seem to sense that yourself "and I must digress once again".

I hope your God recovers..It is strange to talk of a God, in this day and age it should be easier to see more clearly.
As the more badness that is done by man on his fellow man, and the ability of some men to blame all but themselves, the less chance there is of the God that with a prayer forgives you etc: sinking into oblivion ending up with a truly Godless world.
That you are responsible for all you do in this life, and that you have to answer to yourself later, would make man think before he did wrong to his fellow man.
Talking to My friend "Sadie" she says that those what we would call bad Spirits are heavier than the others and sink down in the scheme of things, (Though they are still loved with unconditional love) but those that strive to be better with the lessons they have learned will progress to a higher level, I have a lot to learn about these places as yet but to me it is more realistic than using a rosary and having someone else take the blame for the things I do...
You can always light a candle for me, I will feel the warmth, where ever in the world I am, Yours Ian.T

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

I love the part about Lucifer and the translation of light bringer cracks me up everytime that Jerome translated it in the Latin Vulgate in some dripping cave in Isreal to be Lucifer when it was Halel or something like that which really translates boaster, how he got Lucifer from Halel is the question! Ha but I love the ant wars we have gargantuan ones where we live they frighten me to the quick.

The first 2 stanzas and last 3 lines are delightful poetry, the rest more a concise prose essay of the sort of sense that is very uncommon.

cheers,
Jess
