Walking Beside You

I was low when I met you
Crawled out of the sea
I was reaching my hand out
When you rescued me

It seemed like rock bottom
Was left on the shore
But life has a way
Of handing us more

So we walked on the piedmonts
To reach coastal peaks
To find our way over
We made a few tweaks

On to the desert
Waiting beyond
Scant are oases
We thirst all along

Quite desiccated
We’ve canyons to cross
Descent and ascension
This dangerous trough

Now I stand with you
The canyons behind
The scars and the soreness
Still there to remind

Lessons were tutored
To us on the way
Gain new perspectives
With each passing day

I’ll keep that in mind
As I keep my head up
There’s mountains approaching
We’ve no plans to stop

Of finding your soulmate and growing together in love, with no intentions of stopping. Great job!

Hi, Tim,
As I read this, and knowing some of what you've shared about yourself, I can believe that this is defining the journey you and your wife have traveled. But there is a part of this that speaks to the journey you've taken with yourself. I really like this.
Thank you,
L
