A thousand sighs until tomorrow

as yesterdays hand
slips off my shoulder,
and tomorrows embrace
takes my gaping lips

in this, today
I breathe a thousand sighs
and soar a breathless wind

I’ve heaved the night
until the day broke,
and stood in the middle
of all and nothing

and now,
I exist in Milli seconds
between this word

and the next

of a sleepless night. I have had more than a few lately and you have described them perfectly! It seems that the milliseconds
of hesitancy go on forever, and I do not want to move ahead with this day. Oh, woe is me! Love and higgest bugs, ~ Geez.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

It was more than a sleepless night unfortunately. Partly lack of sleep but more "something" else. I am glad you got it though. Hugs x

I go to bed early and then l will normally wake after 5 or so hours of sleep to a silent home. I usually cruise my inner oceans and stroll about the house. Quiet time to think. I’m not given to insomnia somehow I’m able to “turn off” even in the midst of stressors.

Beautiful language as always.

I go to sleep when the sun comes up qnd sleep an average of 2-4hrs with a nap thrown in sometimes when I get weary. The joy of being in constant pain.

Thanks for the comments they're always appreciated. You've a keen eye and a insightful mind.

once I stood awake 72 plus hours
then simply passed away
for many hours in my younger days

today all would perhaps say
LOVEDLY PASSED away

lol don't dismay
I will still stay
even tho my sighs sway

I am sorry but I actually shattered 72hrs awake into smithereens. Not by choice. By circumstances out of my control.

I hear a poem in your comment lol hmmm maybe?

I only speak truth
since my youth
Know ye kindly

I average 2-3 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night , whether it be my dogs or anxiety. I don't even think I know what eight hours feels like anymore.

I'm about the same but my sleep is always interrupted, the longest I've slept in the last 8yrs without waking is 3yrs.

It's 2am here now. I'll laydown after the sun comes up. Sleep for an hr or two and I'm up and alert again.
