Social Distancing

So surreal.
I watch the
Red-Winged Blackbird
skip from one blade
of ornamental grass
to another,
the red in its feathers
bursting from beneath the black,
its conk-la-reee call
claiming its space -
a signal for everything to keep a distance.
I adjust my mask
as I watch it fly to a tree.
So surreal.

I enjoy the Red-Winged Blackbird a lot, not only for its beauty, but also for its musical call. Your rehab work in Arizona sounds awesome, truly sounds like rewarding years!
