Sleeping Beauties

by Kailashana on Sun, 2012-11-04 17:18

There is a thread,
I know not its weight
or currency neither its colour nor
sound
the fabric of the universe
is sewn by unseen hands now
trembling now as steady as the rock
Atlas carries upon his shoulders I have slept
for a hundred years in an
ivory tower of dreams
from which you saved me by cutting off my hair
and using a single strand to sew my shroud
but death does not come easily this time
nor do dreams I have yet to dream...falling
out of love I awaken while you must sleep
the sleep of deathless dreams your fingers
clasped tightly around poems you will
never hear.
