Samhain

Thus passing through the mist
Upon the western sea
The shore of this elusive land
Apparent now to me

Apple and its silver branch
Delivered to my hand
Maiden delicate and fair
My guide in this strange land

Otherworldly joy
everlasting youth
Undying summer pastures
Where every hurt is soothed

But here, now is forever
Seldom few return
Yet when the portals open
The threshold fires burn

A night of liminality
Through barrow, over fen
I feast with all my progeny
Upon this dark Samhain

Such an elegant description of what the other side may look like. I have only imagined as none I've asked will tell what they see...

So nice to hear from you on this. With everything so inauthentic I like to try and keep it real.

Thanks,
Tim

P.S. how is everything over there?

is /was frantic yesterday afternoon. Steven lost a lot of blood after the surgical removal of a baseball sized cyst. he was at home and bleeding profusely. I patched him up with a big stack of those large gauze pads and paper towels. he had a bleeder vein and the surgeon sutured the vein. he is okay, but lost a load of blood. thanks for asking. my bruises are starting to heal, but still throb.
I loved this poem...read it to Steven, he liked it.
